Just called me Sat 3/28/09 at 11:33AM Est.  No Message.

This number calls me 4-5 times per day.  I have no idea who it is, but they leave no message.

got a call - the guy said he was calling from SunTrust Bank !

sounds bogus, no one from any Suntrust Bank will ever ask you for your SSN

called this sat at 8 am- woke everyone up- left no message

Its from Suntrust bank to remind you for a payment you missed.

No reason to call this business.  STOP!!! these annoyances.

Receive call from this number at least once a week, sometimes more, no one answers, call goes dead.
As many others I have looked up this number, says it is Suntrust.  We do not heal with Suntrust.  Believe this is an attempt to get personal information from people

Just got the call from some guy named Jesse who claimed to be from Suntrust.  He asked me for my last 4 digits of my SSN# to speak about a personal matter.  This is a hoax - do not provide this information.  I didn't give him any info and called Suntrust directly.  They said they will never call you and ask you to verify personal information, and this was likely someone trying to commit fraud against my account.  Be careful!

I have been getting multiple calls daily, two to four times per day. They say they are SunTrust. They are NOT. I do my banking at SunTrust, and I have a mortgage and home equity loan, plus checking accounts. These people say they are "SunTrust Collections."  I am not behind on ANY payments, so this made no sense. I finally answered the call and talked to a woman who immediately asked me for social security information. I refused to give it to her, and she got nasty, saying they were a collection agency, and I needed to verify who I was using the last 4 digits of my social security number before she could explain more.  I refused and said until I knew with certainty who she was, that I would not give any such information over the phone. She continued to insist she was calling for SunTrust and was rude, saying that I owed money unless I could verify that I did not by giving my social security information so she could check. I refused and said that I would go to my local SunTrust branch to check myself...and she hung up.  I went to my SunTrust branch, and they verified that the people calling from this number are NOT SunTrust.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!  IT IS A SCAM to get your account information.

I have received eight calls from this number today. They have called on other days as well. Never leave a message. I'm about ready to change my number!

Thanks for this information!  This number calls no less than 5 times a day, and often more. We also have the same accounts with SunTrust. Very glad that you have shared this. Wish there was a way to put a stop to this find of thing. It's wrong!!!!

I just answered the call by mistake...the person asked if so and so was available. He used my maiden name and I haven't used that name in 12 years. I knew something  not right so I told him no one here by that name. He hung up and I blocked that number. I went through my caller ID list and found that number .  called several times from beginning of November. Just block the number. I have a Panasonic phone that has that feature. The phone companies block feature does not work on all numbers. so it is a waste of money.

Just got the same call.  Said they needed to verify the last four of my social to be able to speak to me.  Sounded suspicious. Then wanted to verify my mailing address.  I told them I wouldn't give out personal information.  

After some digging and calling SunTrust myself, found out the number was from SunTrust collections; she also provided me the name of the person the number is assigned to.  I called another SunTrust number and they routed me to this person.  Turns out I had made a payment for my equity credit line through another bank's bill pay but it was credited to the wrong account so they were calling me because I had a "late payment".    In my case, it was legit.

Rec'd call from this number.  As soon as I answered, they hung up.  A few minutes later, my cell phone rang.  Same thing happened.  Who the heck is doing this???

Just got a call from this munber saying they were from a local radio station  and were looking for participants for the 'Chum FM Listeners Club' because they wanted to send a few lucky listeners to Barbados.  I don't listen to this station and told them so.  So they asked to be put through to anyone else in the office that does.  I put them on hold and tried to look up the number.  They hung up.  So I called the number and a recording said "This number is not in service".  Wow.  So people will go to great lenghts to try to scam people.  Sad.

This # is not a scam or a hoax! It is Suntrust Bank.  Typically they will call if you are late with a payment.... and this is the correct # for them.  Again, not a scam, or a hoax.  They are asking for last 4 digits of social security to verify that you are indeed who they need to speak with...so they are not giving out personal & private information to someone...who shouldn't have it.  Especially because its a banking personal matter.  

then they need to leave a legitimate message identifying themselves and leaving a call back number. Legitimate collectors are forthright . This cryptic behavior makes it tough to confirm. The fact is Suntrust outsources to international contractors who get credit if you pay them instead of the bank directly ; Beware.

Got a call from this number, said they were from Suntrust.  I told them my local bank need to call me if they had an issue.
