I believe they are a collection agency. They called at 7:30 am which in BC I don't believe that's actually allowed. First time I've seen this number though. Can't find any information on them. They didn't leave a voicemail

It's a call centre for a collections agency, probably going to tell you that a lawsuit has been filed against you. I don't even know who gave them my cell # (it's a prepaid) but I am livid!  Makes you think that all financial institutions are working together.

Someone named Colette from phone# 1-877-673-3586 left me voice mail 2 - 3 times...leaving her phone# 1-877-673-3586 and a code#, and a message saying something like "Anna, you need to call me back as soon as possible..."

I then called 1-877-673-3586 back and left Colette a voice mail saying the code#, and also a message that "I'm not Anna, there's nobody at my phone# named Anna, I don't know who Anna is, there'll be no need for you to call me again"...and yet even still, Colette keeps calling my phone# leaving voice mail for Anna!!!

These guys have called twice today.  They call first from a line that comes up "private caller", then call right back from this other number.  They are posing as Revenue Canada personnel looking to verify our address and information.  Revenue Canada doesn't do this, they don't need to verify anything.

I spoke to them. They are a collection agency. When I realized it was 7:45 AM(I live in BC as well). I told them to call back another time. And the agent on the phone became really aggresive. They have also been calling my phone over the holidays. starting to become an issue.

They call anywhere from 2 - 5 times a day and rarelly leave a message.  They don't state who it's for when a message it's for only with a very long number.  They call on my air time off my phone and I refuse to answer it.

Get an iPhone4 or later which is needed for iOS 7. iOS 7 allows you to block callers. Every 800# whether they leave msg or not 'block it,' so at least that one will not get through. Not certain but I think iOS 7 even blocks the said number if it is put through as unknown number from said number. Eventually they will run out of numbers.
:-p  I think many times the call is routed from an auto-dialer that may not care that was blocked therefore rarely getting a call until a computer program tells them you are someone who has never made contact, then when an agent dials block em. If you are not a payer they don't make money, if you don't answer they don't make money. Ignore and keep blocking their 3-5 calls a day for a few months and they will get the point your file will not make them money, therefore causing them to slow down on annoying calls. There is also legislation that states they are not permitted to call you at all if your # is a cell # due to the high costs of cellular. Obviously you have updated/shared your # with a bank, a credit application (transunion/e...), or somewhere..... they are persistent pricks that may lie/trick parents/friends or whatever to get your number. Answer the phone and tell them they are calling a cellular line you forbid them from calling due to cost and that you will take them to court if it doesn't stop immediately. I forget the law but they will know about it I'm sure. Best thing to do is stand your ground, explain once more you are unable to pay due to disability/low income, and leave it at that, after confirming they heard you, confirm you do not want them calling your cell phone line protected by law, and when the dippy, ignorant, persistent morons ask again for money, when your next payment will be, etc., just hang up and save yourself any stress. When/if they call again persist on this again and again, say, "still disabled/will be disabled for life," then continue to hang up. Another good option is leave 1 sim card for profession reasons/banks/social services/pretty well anywhere else that you do not need to hear from immediately and use a 2nd sim in same phone for normal day use. Skype is also an option for banks etc., or other, 'online,' phone service number for those you do not need to hear from immediately.
