This number called me 9:58 this morning and I did not answer.  I listened to my voice mail and it was a man stating that he was going to serve me with a summons within 24 to 48 hours at my home or place of employment. I was to have two forms of ID available for him to see.

I am contacting all my creditors to see if they use this courier service. If they do not I know this is a fraud.

I received the same phone call. I'm in AZ; curious as to where other recipient resides.

I think this is a scam based on other posts similar related to a different 800 # but sane company name "legal carrying services".

Same call called them back and wanted to collect a debt the debt was closed and they wanted 900 for the debt that was only 175 and said they would take half 450 or they would take it to court and it was western acquisitions is what she said the company was I can not find them any where and was worried at first but not anymore Im in ALABAMA

They called me yesterday Janaury 8th with the same message about a summons at home or work. My mind said, "this is a scam." So I didn't call back. I'm in Atlanta, GA

I got another call today on my line instead of my wifes line like yesterday no company name just strait in on the threat on my voice mail I was told yesterday if I didnt pay by 6 eastern time that they could not stop it from going to court I did manage to call and back track my debt that she said I owe but every one of them asked my ssn  in full the number in question only asked last 4 I think they see what anyone can see and herass people to pay and keep the money

Same message received telling me they would come to my home or work.I did not call them back. Definately a scam guys don't fall for it.

I just got the same call and the same message.  When googling the # it comes up as a Law Firm in NJ that specializes in DUI.  David Bildner Law Firm.  Did anyone ever find out what creditor uses this supposeded service?  And what kind of subpoena or summons could they serve me with for a debt?

I got the same call.  I was looking this up as the news was reporting on the Target hackers. They said if you placed online orders your info was at risk too, not just those who went to the store. I did order from target.com before Christmas and I wonder if this had to do with it. I will be keeping a close eye on my cards

I just received a call at 1:40 - it was a threatening recorded message that they will be coming to my home within 24 to 48 hours and will need to see proof of a job and two forms of ID or else!  I have no idea what this could possibly be about. Whatever it is they seem to be trying to intimidate as I don't have any credit issues. Very unprofessional!

Got the same message as the above callers. I hope people check the number before calling and being scammed by these people. Unbelievable. Thanks to everyone for posting about this.

I received the same call today!

I got this call on 2/1/2013 and again today 1/14/2014 stating that they had a summons and was going to be at my residents or place of employment and I would need two forms of ID.  I have not received anything stating that anything was being sent and would be handled legally nor did anyone show up in 2013.  This scares the crap out of me because I don't owe anyone money :-/  The man left his name of Charles Clade with Legal Caring Services. He said if I had any questions to call the party that is filing against me at 8776883879.  The same number he called me from.

The company claims to be in New York and is said to be called Western Acquisition.  They will provide little information.  After be hung up on I called back and got a recording for a WalMart gift card offer.

Number called from was 877-688-3879. I have called back before and no one answered. This time they did. They transferred me to a William Palmer, who stated he was the lead attorney there. I asked him for his Bar number and state that he was licensed in. He said he would eventually provide this information, and wanted to know why I wanted it??? He then stated that this was pertaining to an old Wal Mart account that was wrapped into a Chapter 7, which has already discharged. I advised him of that, and I let him know that I got their threatening message about serving a Summons and that my manager or head of  security would need to be present. I also let him know he could go ahead and serve his Summons at my law firm, and then I gave him the address where I worked. I also gave him our attorneys telephone number, and let him know this is California and that he should not even be calling me. I advised that Wal Mart was on the Proof of Service, and the debt was discharged. I then told him that I dare him to serve the Summons. He agreed that he and his company were in the wrong. He also stated that it was not his fault, and that I should not be mad at him. He then refused to give me his Bar number or state that he was licensed in. They clearly operate outside of the collection guidelines set up in terms of BK's and California.

Thank you all for caring enough to post your comments.  They have helped to reassure my husband and me that the number 1-877-688-3879 is possibly a scam. On 1/14/14, my husband received the same automated voice recording several of you have mentioned and we live in TN.  We called the number back that night and it went to voicemail and I thought it was strange that their voicemail didn't have the name of their company.  I went to whitepages.com, entered the phone number and it has a warning that says "Moderate Spam Activity Suspected".  

The next day (1/15/14) we called the company back and the lady that answered the phone didn't say the name of the company when she answered, which I found odd.  She put us on the phone with Mike and I asked him the name of the company and he said "Western Acquisitions Group" and quickly told me I couldn't Google and find the company name, but that I would have to just type www.westernacquisitiongroup.com into my web browser.  I did and the page looks very generic and it only has a P.O Box and this phone number and not a physical location.  While on the phone I searched for the company via the bbb.org site to see if it's an actual business and it didn't show up.  When I told him I think this is a scam he tried to justify every lack of evidence that this is a real company.

I told him that Identity Guard does not show this past due account and he says it shows up on the 3 Credit Reports and I said no it doesn't.  He said you can ignore this if you want, but I assure you that you will get served legal papers and pay court fees, the full amount of the debt $1900 (instead of $1000 we're willing to settle for) and other fees if you don't settle this within the next hour.  I asked for an actual document and he sent us an email....it also looked suspicious.  

While my husband was on the phone with them, from my phone I called a friend of mine that's an attorney and he said to call the company the man claims the debt originated from and see if they sold it to Western Acquisitions Group.  When I told the man that I'm on the phone with my attorney and that we are going to call JCPenney he said ok and we ended the call.

This morning I called the Better Business Bureau of New York (since this company's website lists their address as P.O. Box 47 Albion, NY 14411) and they could not find them.  They Googled their phone number and found these scam alerts tied to it.  They suggested I call the Federal Trade Commission and speak with them on the validity of this business.

What I found interesting is that one of you said when you called 1-877-668-3879 and asked the business name they claimed to be the Legal Caring Services company, but when I spoke with them yesterday, they were the "Western Acquisition Group".  So, I just called them from my work phone and of course they didn't state their company name when they answered, just stated their name and said hello.  I said, "Yes, is this the Legal Caring Services?" and after a long pause they said "Who is this and what's your phone number?"  I asked again, "Is this the Legal Caring Service?" and they said it's the "Western Acquisitions Group".  I said, "So this isn't the Legal Caring Service company?" and in a very scared/frustrated voice the lady responded by saying, "I'm not answering anymore of your questions until you answer mine." And I said, "You just did....thank you!".

We are waiting to hear back from the trail we're on with JCPenney's to see if this is an actual debt.  My gut tells me this is a scam, but I want the confirmation.  I encourage anyone else that has been called by this number to find out the name of the business and post it on here.  My theory is this is a scam and they are changing their business name often.  

Received the same call from Charles at 877-688-3879 - warned he would serve a summons at my home or work within 24-48 hrs and to have 2 forms of ID and a witness would also need to be present to sign as well, notably a supervisor or a security guard.  I do have debts and am working hard to get them cleared up.  However, I have never heard of someone calling to warn me of serving me, I would think this would make a person NOT available...  but I don't run from things I am responsible for, if they threaten, they should follow through.  I have also received threatening calls before from other people and the threats do no come to fruition... so I beleive it is a way to scare and get you to call back.  I do believe they sue for debts if large enough, but pretty sure they don't call to warn you they are on thier way to serve you papers.  

If you call them back, ask their company name...this company has identity crisis.  When they called my husband and we called them back since they don't state their business name, I asked and they said "Western Acquisitions Group".  Then I saw these posts where people say they claim to be the "Legal Care Services" company.  I called from my work phone yesterday and asked is this "Legal Care Services" and after hesitation said "No, Western Acquisitions Group...what's your name and account number".  I said so this isn't "Legal Care Services" and they said "I'm not answering anymore questions until you answer mine." I laughed and said you just did.  I told my husband about the phone call last night, so he made the same call to them and asked the same question, "Is this Legal Care Services?" and they said, "YES".  Weird, because when I called earlier they weren't.

I've already contacted the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission to report this, so hopefully nobody gets scammed out of money.  Part of me is tempted to called back and ask for their Business License # and physical address to see what kind of response I get.  If I did get an answer, better bet I would verify it, because every avenue I've went down has proven that this is not a valid business.  BBB nor the county clerks office can verify this company.

I just called them and told them I was going to serve them papers for harassment and false business practices. Ha..wonder if they enjoyed that feeling.
