You should have received an e-mail on 4/16 in regards to this call. It's part of ENACT

    Lynn,
I live in a total different city as my mother and the only way I can think BOA has my information is if I'm her Emergency Contact at work. I can not get a hold of my mother. What is ENACT?

When the automated caller asks for person #, What does this mean? What is he asking for? This seems a little fishy and unprofessional to me. I would think that if this is a true emergency then a real b of a employee would contact you. JMO

I received this call as well. Not too keen on putting my BAC person number in the system and I know I didn't receive the ENACT email that is being referenced, as I work for a subsidiary.

This is the Bank of America Emergency Notification system. It's used to contact BofA associates in emergency/urgent situations. For example, I live in north Texas. We had a snow/ice storm overnight last night and I received one of these calls today on my cell phone.

The message is either 1) and actual emergency or 2) a test.  In both cases, an automated system is calling numbers provided by Bank of America employees so they, the employees, can be made aware of the emergency.  PS:  The automated call does not ask you to input your employee number (person number)...the automated call, rather, asks you only if know your person number.  The reason for that question is in case you wanted to call the emergency number yourself, you would need it for the system to determine if they actually have an emergency for you.
If you do not respond by picking up the call nor calling the system back, they system will continue to call you.  The reason for the system continually calling you is to ensure you have been made aware of the emergency or disaster.

I received this call this morning.  It was an emergency notification for my husband. I'm his emergency contact so I received the message.  His office had a start time delay due to weather.

ENACT is Bank of America's contigency plan for natural disasters. In the event of disaster, or as a test, they contact employee's emergency contact number(s).

Am getting REPEATED calls from this number. Neither I nor anyone else in my family is a BoA employee. So the comments on ENACT or any other "test" being conducted for the benefit of BoA employees is not addressing the fact that whomever is using this number to send out robocalls is either abusing the system or it's in fact a scam. If it is legit, BoA is exhibiting poor judgment in its choice on how to communicate with stakeholders.

It is not a scam nor is it abusing the system. These calls are to notify employees (not stakeholders) that: a) there is an emergency and the message is to alert an employee of that emergency with detailed information); or, b) that this is a periodic test that is also sent to employees.  If you are getting this call, it is possible that your number belonged to a former employee and you are now getting a call that was meant for them (although it should be cleaned out soon after an employee leaves the bank).  Or, they are still employed by the bank and have your number as one of their contact numbers.
