I received a call from 1-877-696-2722 on my cell phone.  When I called this number from a landline, I found it has something to do with NASCAR.  I did not solicit this call and I have reported this number to the Do Not Call registry.

Received credit card statement 11/1/2007; $10.00 charge for "Nascar Members Club -877-6962722 CT". Have seen the number before: collection company supposedly trying to locate a deadbeat, can't get thru to question them.
NOTE: above the "Nascar" listing was - WLI*SHOPPERSDISCOUNT 800-8898776 CT and a $10.00 charge. Googled the 800 #, found out a call to them gets a credit issued immediately. Called them, female with Indian or Pakistani accent appologized and said she issued credit while I spoke. She also said the charge came thru the Haband website which, she said, reports credit card numbers used to purchase from Haband to her company who charge the card $10.00. Seems the transfer of numbers happens when you click on an offer of $10.00 off your next purchase from Haband. Can't get any verification from Haband, much run-around and they hung up twice after asking us to hold for a moment. Who is ripping us off? Haband or some shady off-the-wall operator in Connecticut???
We'd appreciate any comments and/or suggestions from anybody else who had similar experiences or knows how and who to report this stuff to (FCC, Comsumer Group, FEMA[lol] or ?.

I have been getting these calls every week & sometimes more even after 8:00 at night. Someone aught to do something about this.

I get calls about once every other week from this number.  It rings less than one time and the call is ended.  It is very irritating.

I got this number on my bank statement. It took out ten dollars for a nascar members club. Above it I also had WLI*SHOPPERSDISCOUNT 800-8898776 CT. I would like to figure this out.

Someone please make it stop.  I'm also getting $10 charges on my credit card.

It seems that my charges were initiated after I placed an online order and proceeded to complete a survey form.  I elected to take the $10 off next purchase but I didn't realize that I was signing up for a monthly commitment.  I called the number on my bill and promptly cancelled my account.  They were rather helpful and quick with cancellation.

I'll pay more attention to what I'm filling out on line.

I just caught double charges of $12 on my account. I called the number that was listed "800-8898776" on my charges. A very helpful woman told me that I had signed up for "shoppers discount" and "reservation rewards" on movietickets.com. She canceled my accounts and refunded me the money. She also gave me some confirmation codes so that i could track it. I recommend calling them and stay calm. Remember that the person that you are talking to is not the one that did it to you.

I have not recieved a call from this number but I did get $84.00 charged to my credit card, with this number as the source.  it is a nascar vip membership or something.  I did buy my daughter some items off of nascar.com at the beginning of Dec.  I do not recall if I filled out a survey or an email notification.  I sometimes will sighn up to hear about special offers or to get a coupon, but never would have knowingly paid for anything  like this.  I am going to call in the morning and hopefully they will straighten it out.

That $84 charge on your credit card is for a membership. That is a yearly charge to be a member on the Nascar.com website. Someone has ordered something off that website like I did and didn't know that there was a yearly membership fee. Just call the # on your bankstatement and you'll have to wait about 5 mins for a live person but just tell them you'd like to cancel that membership. That's what I did and they canceled it without any problem and was very nice about it. I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.

I received an $84 charge on my debit card for a Nascar membership which I DID NOT authorize to my knowledge. I had paid shipping and handling on a "FREE" can coozie offer or so I thought. I called the number and they are supposedly going to reimburse me within a 30 day billing cycle. Lesson learned, ALWAYS read the fine print before ordering anything.

Quit complaining....called the number myself, process was quick and simple to cancel...simple as that...so...quit complaining

i bought a nascar flag for $1.95.a month later they drew $84.00 out of my accont,still trying to get back my money.wtf

I had an $84.00 charge from Nascar members also.....called them up they said they would credit my card and cancel the membership.  No problem, very nice pleasant person on the line.

Received an 84.00 charge on my card, called the number spoke to a Max who was very nice and told me when I purchased a hat from NASCAR.com I clicked on something for a 10 percent discount, which I did not and asked them to cancel and refund my money, was told a refund would be received in 3 to 5 days and never received...

Got a call, ordered a cozy cup for a 1.99 then found a $84.00 ding in my account for a Nascar membership..called the number no answer....Denying charges thru my credit card company..these people have been doing this for years..as far back as 2006 be carefull....

They did the same exact thing to me Lisa and Im pissed!!!Nobody answers their dang phone either.

same thing with me... paid $1.95 shipping charge for a "free" Nascar tag... a month later there was an $84 charge on my debit card with the same # and "Point Of Sale - Nascar Membership" in the transaction description... couldn't get an answer when I tried to call... I would never authorize an $84 purchase like that... that was the one and only time I have ever ordered anything online,  and will definitely be the last time... gonna keep trying to call until I get to talk to someone... hard lesson learned for sure...
