877-706-1898

My 9 year old's phone has started receiving calls from 877-706-1898. I have called them 5 times and informed them that the phone they are calling does not belong to a "Matthew Owen". I just now found out the name of the company today. In the past they would not tell me the name of the company.  They assure me they will stop calling and everyday for 2 months now they have called.  What can be done to stop this???

Received two calls, thirty seconds apart, as I do not accept calls from Toll Free numbers, both were answered and disconnected automatically after one ring using PhoneTray Free 1.31 software, caller ID, my computer and modem.

If anyone else would like the "recipe" to do the same, here is what I have mine set to answer and hangup on automatically:

N/A - in this modern age, if they do not have the ability in the telco switch to supply caller ID, I do not want to hear from them, very few places can't provide anything at all for callerid information.

Private Number - if they want to hide their number, I do not wish to hear from them <click!>.

Out of Area - I can call them back if my "research" shows it is worth the call.

Local - We accept them, I can always add individual numbers late to hang up on specific lines.

Long Distance - We accept them too, the first time.  Of course the person they are asking for does not exist at the number and if they call again, they will have been added to the hang up list so they only get through once.

Toll Free - There is no reason to ever receive calls from someone hiding behind Toll Free for a name.  If it is important, we can call them back after checking the number, so we ZAP'EM!

This is a very rude and incompetent company that will repeatably call/pester the wrong person. My daughter was told to tell me to call back for a very urgent personal message. This happened to occur while my wife was recovering in hospital from a near death auto crash. It happens that someone with the same name owes somebody something. These are shameful bottom feeders.

I have the same problem. I am getting a call from this company every day. What do I do?
