Got a text today saying to call Citi about my Sears account. I don't have a Sears account.

I got the same text.  I have NEVER had a Sears card and haven't had a Citibank card for over 10 years.  Wonder the the deal is?

I got this text, and it was real.  I called the general customer service number for my Sears card and the rep said they send out those texts for account alerts.  In my case, I was't aware that there were minimum payments on on my deferred interest promotion, so I was past due.

I got the same message, and it was real too. Citi owns Sears card. They got my address wrong, so I never received my card or statement. I have a balance, and a late fee. I'll need to get that removed after I receive the statement.

I could have made a payment over the phone and take care of my late fee right there, but I don't do that over the phone.

Why does Sears card send this text msg

began calling cell phone.. said my last payment to Sears did not clear the bank. Told them if that were
true the bank would have returned check with notice to ME... not some unidentified dude somewhere in the
world with no name....asked for my social security number and other info... Stupidity is rampant... so ignorant. No wonder
they can't get a real job and resort to id theft and swindling people....

Received three phone calls over the weekend and two text messages today. They want money saying I am delinquent on my Sears account (which happens to have a zero balance and I never use it).

Maybe you should contact Sears and make sure someone else isn't using your card.

I received a text on 11-6-16 that this was an attempt to collect a debt and the rep asked me for my name, and phone number. The phone number was to verify my account.  weird, I paid my card on the phone on 10-19-16 due on 10-26-16, but they called me on the 6th  of November. no mail saying I did not make a payment or email, but a text. weird,  I told the rep the payment was verified days ago. I could not get a straight answer out of the rep, the rep kept saying 2 different cards!!!
