This number calls up to 3 times per day. If the call is answered, they hang up in your ear. When I called the number back, there is a recording that says that it is a company called SME that would like to sell me a subscription to "my local newspaper" (does not specify which newspaper). They then give an option to be added to their "do not call" list (never mind that my number is already on the national do not call list...) and that the number will be removed within 72 hours. I added my number but they're still calling. Not sure how they expect to sell anything if they just hang up when the call is answered... Pretty annoying, and they shouldn't be calling at all anyway since I am on the national do not call list, and it's clearly a marketing phone call.

This number has called every day for the past few weeks several times a day. It rings a few times and leaves no message. It is unbelievably annoying. They have called early in the morning and late at night. I can't find who it is with any reverse lookup and there's no one to complain to. Apparently I'm not the only one.

This numbers keeps calling me, even though I told them to stop.  What should I do?

Sunday morning 12/12/10 9:10 this sh*t is old. I want to report them to someone.

Never anyone there and they call early on weekends. Will not stop.  If they were selling water in the desert I wouldn't buy it.

They call me 1-3 times per day, almost every day it seems like. Really need to figure out how to make it stop!

This has been for the 'North County Times' for me; I have been asked to be removed from their list in the past and it usually lasts six (6) months or so.

This number has called every day while I've been away from home for the past 2-months. I was finally home and it was a caller trying to sell me the San Diego Union Tribune.  I asked to be on "Do not call" list. we'll see what happens!

This number calls me at least 4 times a days.  I tried reporting it and it still comes through.

Please stop them from calling.  I tried to call back but all circuits are busy.  Why can't something be done?

I'm on the national do not call list too, yet they call me. How can do you punish these @$$%^7*%

I just got a phone call from this number on my cell phone, which I rarely give out. No message. When I try calling the number back, I get a fast busy signal.

You answer the phone and a recording comes on..."We have an important call for you."   I said "OH SH-T" and the line disconnected.   Maybe that's the key............tell them how you really feel and they hang up.

Their message is  "We have an important message for you."

I have received at least 6 calls form 877-718-4934.  Also calls from similar 877-718 numbers.  I have answered twice and told them to stop calling - the only response I get is a person saying "Hello" and the noise of a room full of people that sound like they are calling other people.  They never leave a message on my answer machine.  I have made reports to donotcall.gov with no results.  I thought there were laws that 877 and 888 numbers had to have a name that shows up on answer machine and also a way to trace and stop these supposed solicitation calls.  Whoever is using this service in Texas - possibly San Antonio Express News - STOP IT

This is a call center that has a list of people that used to subscribe to a newspaper.  Let's see...newspaper...what's a newspaper?  Oh yea...something from the last century.   A bunch of pieces of paper full of advertising and a few articles of information you could have read on the Internet or watched on TV........24 hours a day on a news channel.     The newspaper as we knew it is history.  Something we'll tell our children about like the old turn table.  The way we used to listen to music before CD's and iTunes made vinyl records history.    

My suggestion.........get an iPhone.   Put this phone number 877-718-4934 in a DO NOT ANSWER contact.    Use a ringtone that won't annoy you.   A ringtone that you have designated for all calls you have no intention of answering.  Like a duck call....quack.....quack....quack.   When you hear the duck call you'll know.........."oh yea......been here...done that...not going to play their stupid games anymore."      And the winner is..............YOU.     They'll stop calling after a few hundred times of getting your voicemail.      Good luck to you.

I get calls on my cell phone (Verizon number that I have had for 6 years) from this munber about once every 5 days.

They never leave a message - only hng up.

I never give out my cell number to anyone, so I have no idea how they got this.

They call every day, even on weekends.  It is very annoying.

It's a scam that turns the tables on you. The robo call is programmed to hang up so that you will call them back at their number.

Now, since you just initiated the call to them, they can't be accused of going after you. You actually came to them.

But that's not really what matters as much as this:

When you do call them you get a voice mail that gives you the impression you have several options, but in reality it gives you only one option: to be removed from their call list. So you follow their instructions which ultimately gets you to enter your phone number.

For whatever reason, you have now initiated a call and given some obscure scam artist your personal phone number and made yourself a target for something yet to be.
It will be interesting to see what kinds of calls you start getting once you've entered your phone number.
