My husband received Latina magazine in the mail yesterday.  When I checked online at Latina.com and typed in the account number it showed that the account was "active paid".  I immediately checked all of our credit cards to make sure there were no weird charges on them (there weren't).  It was too late to call them so I called this morning.  The phone number for Latina Magazine customer service is 800-274-1521.  The lady I talked to was very polite when I told them we did not order their magazine and wanted the subscription cancelled, but said that they couldn't cancel it because we didn't place the original order.  I asked her who did and she gave me the number for Sub Data (877-737-6247).  When I called Sub Data and told her that we didn't order this magazine she told me that the order was placed by a company called North Atlanta Magazine Corporation and gave me the phone number of 800-237-7855 and offered to connect me.  When I was connected this fast talking lady explained that they basically pick and choose addresses based on the demographics of our area.  I told her that maybe she should do better research because the small town that we live in is 99.9 percent white and the other .1 is not Latino.  I also told her that if this subscription was not cancelled that my next call would be to the Arkansas Attorney General.  Latina magazine agreed to place a "hold" on the account until it was cancelled so that we would not receive any more magazines.
