- Zippie| 3 repliesIt's the National Recovery Agency not the National Rifle Association. It's a super low bottom feeder collection company that picks up the morsels other collection companies abandon.
Such is the problem when you try to help someone in trouble and they use your number with their creditors. The creditors won't take me off their list without me giving them a social number. Fat chance that will happen. So I'll continue to let my answering machine pick up.- Caller: National Recovery agency
- Call type: Debt collector
- Don replies to WayneBest way to deal with these harassing calls is
Caller ID. If the caller comes through without an identificationof the caller or is someone you dont know dont answer it. Whatever you do dont identify yourself by name even if they ask if this is ______ which happens to be your name.
Use a loud whistle if they persist
Have your number unlisted and certainly not on your personal checks. Quite often when you aree asked for it by salesman, etc. you dont need to give it. Many organizations sell these lists to agencies that do calls such as this who then have your name, a profile etc. and now you are public information.
Experience of many is that the FTC DoNot Call list does little to resolve this problem and they do little or nothing to folloow up on complaints about numbers.
Telephone and cell phone companies have very limited call blocker services and almost all of them will not allow you to put blocks on 800, 900, 877, etc area code numbers. - bonnie replies to ZippieIts the National rifle Association I just called them back. They wanted us to reup an old membership.
- Cold War VetPhone number 877-743-1358 is not the National Rifle Association. It's NRA GROUP, LLC. DBA National Recovery Agency (a.k.a 800 Service), a debt collector. They've been calling my number looking for an individual that used to have my number over a year ago. The won't quit calling, despite all my efforts to advise them that I'm not the person they're looking for.
- Caller: NRA Group

- VeritasYes, that number IS the National Rifle Association. They just called, didn't say anything when I answered, and when I called it back it is answered with, "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association. We're very sorry we missed you. We will try contacting you again in a few days..." Yippee. I guess that's what you get for your Life Membership; a lifetime of telephone solicitations.
- Caller: National Rifle Association
- Veritas replies to Zippie| 1 replyNo, I just called the number back and it clearly said, "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association."
- Steve replies to VeritasIf you call them back on the 877 number and press 1 to listen to the message it will ask you if you want to stop the calls. Follow the instructions and they will cancle all future calls to your number.
- jennifercalled back, message clearly states it is the National Rifle Association...not sure how there's a confusion as to the name of the company? perhaps they have the NRA on their message so people answer the phone the next time they call?
- Caller: national rifle association
- Bobby| 1 replyThis number is not the National Rifle Assoc. Go to their website and the number is 1-800-672-3888.
When they idenitied themselves as NRA, just said no thanks and remove our number. My wife answers phone, they ask for me, she headed them off. I am a sucker, I hate to admit it.- Caller: NRA

Never leaves voice mail message.
Less distractions with leaving Do Not Disturb setting on full time. Legitimate callers always leave a message. - Rigbythis is the nra calling and the customer service is very rude. They call my house and when a female answers they hang up. When your customer service answers and ask to speek to the person they are looking for and you tell them he is not in, They are rude and hang up on you. We have been with the nra for 20 years.
- Caller: NRA
- Norman| 1 replyJust had a call from this number. I didn't catch the name of the company, but it is a legitimate telemarketing firm, in this case they were fundraising for the NRA (of which I am a member). So nothing, illegal or underhanded going on. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to contribute at this time, but I am not objecting to their tactics. If you can afford to help the cause, please do, else politely tell them that you are unable. But do be polite as they are working on behalf of our friend, the NRA.
