We are getting chronic anonymous calls looking for someone with our same last name. The calls come several times daily (and nightly) We don't answer numbers we don't recognize, so the caller leaves a recorded message for the person in question to call back BUT the message never identifies the caller.

Today the message was more revealing. The caller is not native to the USA, so she is hard to understand, but she finally identified herself as Amy Harris calling for Payeez Up Credit Service. I can't find anything like that online, so I may not understand her accent. There should be some way to keep people from leaving anonymous recorded messages. I'm sure they are NOT all non-profits with legitimate calls.

This call came in and I didn't answer it as it was on my cell phone and I didn't recognize the number.

I decided to call it and see who it was, and if a telemarketer, to have them remove my number from their list.

It was answered as: Bay Area Credit Services

They asked if I was Tina (so'n'so). I told them no, then she confirmed the number and I said yes, then she said she would remove my number.

Just one question... How did they know what the number was? They didn't ask. So it must show up on a caller id. Not ever have I heard of a professional business having caller id!

Called at 7pm on 9/25/12. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and they didn't leave a message. Didn't bother calling them back.

Got a call from this number and a guy, he does not want to tell me who he is and way he is calling stared to ask me questions like ho I am. He spoke with an accent and asked a lot of questions but he refuse to tell me why he called my number so I hang up. He called again and I could hear him breathing but he didn’t talk. Is this a stalker?

called on mobile looking for my ex said he was collection agency.
Also kept prying. he obtained my mobile # illegally. You can call back get their address and report
to Attorney General.

has anyone tried to locate who is hosting this 877 number and reported it yet? most of the 800 number providers want to know if there number is being used in this fashion.

It IS a legit collection agency. Bay Area Credit Services. In my case, they're collecting for an old ATT bill I had during a rough financial time. They refuse to set up a payment schedule. I told them that I could possibly pay the entire ammount (put down $100) by May 2nd. After the rep spent a good twenty minutes trying to convince I DID have the money now. I finally said "You can talk till you're blue in the face. It's not going to make the money magically appear in my account. I'll call back on May 2nd" (which I will do). I hung up. This was 4 days ago and they called again today!! I said "I'll call on May 2nd. Good-bye." We'll see how many more i get.
