A friend got a call from this number from a dude with an Indian accent claiming to work for Micro PC PCARE on behalf of Microsoft and said that their PC had been hacked 13,000 times and that he could offer protection for life, needless to say we were very wary of this, somehow he set up an IP Intergration on the pc and hid the desktop items, When my friend refused to give their credit card details ( I cant remember the prices quoted) He got very angry. I couldn't uninstall the IP Intergration because the PC doesn't have permission to do so, therefore this F****** A***HOLE has complete control over my friends pc, pc is now at an experts place so hopefully he can ressolve this problem!
This world is full of scammers and they seem to have a very clever way of pulling the wool over the mojority of us innocent people!

This Indian guy has called me at least 3 times with the same scam.  I'm calling from Microsoft about your PC that has been infected w/a virus.  Last 2 times told him not to call any more, but he just called again.  I wish he could be arrested.  Apparently some people do fall for this scam and waste good money!

I just had that same call this afternoon. After I realized it had to be a scam, I hung up. The unknown caller called my phone back 8 times in less than 10 minutes.

Getting calls from this scam.  This AM got a call and told him to hold the line.  Went into the garage and lite 2 firecrackers.  Told him I just shot the neighbor and I needed his phone number and name as the police will want to talk to him.  He gave me "Richard Dawson" (the actor) and a number of 877-753-1166.  I called the number and it went to some med insurance call center (party line).  He called back and I told him I was the son of the person that he talked to and that my father was at the jail for shooting the neighbor.  I said that the police want to talk to him and he gave me the same name with a different number, 877-753-9167.  This number was not answered.

Don't screw with old retired guys, we have nothing but time and crazy ideas.

Just got a call from "Wilson" (With an Indian accent) stating serious threats were detected that could harm my computer.  I asked a number of times who he was with and I couldn't understand his reply.  He told me I needed to turn on my computer (it was already on), and I asked him for a number that I could call.  Just because he called me and told me I had problems, I was NOT going to allow him access to my computer.
He seemed reluctant to give me the number, but he gave me (and this is how he gave it to me) 1-877-7539-167.  When I called the number, a man with a thick Indian accent answered, saying Tech (I couldn't understand the rest), can I help you.  Whether this is a scam or not, I won't deal with them.

Got a call saying my microsoft window is in danger - generating hacking software????  Told him maybe I need to return the computer then since I just bought it.  He told me no, it is a computer problem thing. Wants me to go the computer.  If I don't take care of the problem soon someone outside can eventually hack into my personal information.
    Caller: Sean
    Employee ID:  2048
Price:  Free to run only; price will depend on the severity of hacked software.
Spoke to husband.  Not sure if it is a scam or not but we are returning the computer.

    Guess who called?

I pretended to take their call seriously and had them giving me instructions for almost 30 minutes. I pretended to be following their insturctions but my computer froze and we started over and over again. Then I pretended that my computer was and old 2005 model that was not even connected to the Internet (they had failed to establish that at the beginning of the conversation). That's when they hung up on me.

But it wasn't over. I repeatedly called them back and demaned that they service my computer or send someone over to fix it at home!

Have fun and don't fall victim! :)

This call had a hidden caller ID but I asked for the number (in case of phone trouble) and he gave me the above number.

He guided me to look into my event logger because it "has been reported by microsft that I had big problems with viruses". I led the guy on for quite some time since his accent was so thick and the phone-line quality very poor.

After awhile I told him I have been in computer development for decades and that he was a fraud - microsoft would never  allow cold-calling a windows customer.

He became very hostile. I told him I had held him online long enough to trace him and he really became antagonistic. This place has a website but I don't know if they are part of a scam with this guy or not. I could hear typical boiler room noises in the background. I called the number several times but it doesn't ring.

I asked this clown what my IP address was and he told me he was allowed to say for security and privacy reasons. So he couldn't tell me my own IP address but he could browse through my computer? Right!!!

Just received a call from 877.753.9167 - the caller identified himself as a "senior technician" from Microsoft and advised that there was a "Dangerous Virus" on our computer.  He made multiple requests for me to "get on my computer" so he could fix it.  I did not give him any information and asked for his contact info.  It looks like multiple other complaints have been filed for calls from this number and this is obviously a scam.

I received the same call today.  Held them on the line talking until I was transferred to a senior tech who identified himself as Marc from Tech Plaza tel 1-877-753-9167.  Since they claim to be working for Microsoft, maybe Microsoft should get on their case.  I hate scammers.
