This is a debt collection agency that may use deceptive or misleading statements to identify individuals who have financial obligations to their "clients".  You should be careful when dealing with this or any other collection agent.  Never, never, never and when in doubt, never provide anyone who calls you with your personal information.  An actual debt collection agent will have any and all information they should need about you to pursue a legitimate debt collection.  Your local Law enforcement can help you if you have any doubts about this call.
Best advice is to enter into debt only after very careful consideration about how you can repay the loan, and then to honor your debt by working with the original loan agent (these people's future clients) to repay the loan or work additional arrangements with them before the loan goes to collections.

Some man who sounded like a mafia hitman called and left a message that I need to call and provide a voluntary statement about a bad check or they'll see me in court.  I haven't written a bad check so I wish I knew who this is.

A person calling himself 'Detective Peoples' called my wife from this number while she was at work harassing her, swearing non-stop and calling her a c-word!  And she wasn't even the person he was looking for!  I called the police after he threatened her, and then me that "he was coming after us".  Unreal.
