person claims they are going to put a warrant out on me through the sheriff but they did not leave a name just a number. collection agency I think sounds like there tactics.

how does that sound like a collection agency? Sounds like the police to me. If you get a call like that, maybe you should return to call. I've had police/sheriffs call for people they're looking for before. Maybe you should return the call to find out what it's about. Did you ever think maybe it's actually important.  Who knows, maybe you have a warrant. or outstanding fine or parking ticket.   But it's not a call I would avoid.  What's the worste that can happen??... . It turns out to actually be a collection agency and they force your credit card info out of you to pay your bill.. lol. hahaha... no, but seriously you should call them.   and pay your bills.  you sound like a debtor!!

Wow crazywater, you sound like one of those sleazy collectors that have to resort to illegal tactics to extort money out of people.  Wildfire, if questionable message from "police" dept, call the local VALID office and ask.  They can help.  You will probably find out it's a scam.  Call them back and TRY to get info from them (Company name and address) then report to local authorities, Attny General and FBI.  Good luck!  As soon as you ask for their VALID info, they will hang up on you.
