Called this number. Talked to somebody in India. Have no clue if it is legit or not, but the info I gave them -which wasn't much- seemed to be wrong. But I know it was right. Have changed the info now. The person I talked to kept telling me the info was needed to verify that I was the person she was supposed to be speaking to so as to protect my privacy.  I was trying to do that as well. But, her English wasn't the best.

This is the number listed on the page for AOL member services asking me to change my password.  I didn't call it because when I googled AOL member services this was not the correct number.  Beware--I think this is a scam.

This number is fake. The page that pops up on your screen when you try to access AOL has been generated by a Malware program that inserts a "AOL looking" page into your browser. That Malware page then directs you to cal this 877 number. Most of the good malware programs like MalwareBytes or Spybot will catch it immediately but by then, it may be too late you have given these people what they wanted - your name and password.

I had this verified by AOL because they never ask you directly for your password - only if you want to re-set it, etc.

My account has been disabled please help to keep your account active I can be right back

I had a message to call 877-786-0722 and was told there was problems with my aol account and to change password,  I went back to my computer and changed the password and now my computer is dead.

The scam continues!  Just dealt with this scum re the issues put forward above.
