They called asked for someone in my family and hung up, lots of background noise, people talking & phones ringing.

A guy asked if I was interested in furthering my education. When I told him I was quite happy with the level of education I had, he said ok and hung up. The call came in as soon as I submitted a resume on line.

This company is Academic Advising Center in Boco Raton  Florida, Rio Plaza.
They purchase information from career web sites.  NES Staffing sold them my informationl.  8884737095

Beware this is a scam. If you have submitted your resume to NES Nationwide Employment Solutions, you've been had. Receive a solicition call from an academic advising rep. The website is http://www.nesstaffing.net, they advertising through Craiglist, CareerBuilder, Workforce Commision, under the disguise of a employment agency. You can expect phone calls from other solicitors, they do sell your info.

Got a call from this number after sending my resume in, they asked is this "Jake" I said yes, they hung up.Their number showed 877-789-9861, My Resume did not show my actual phone number or actual address. I did give my cell, which is a number from a different state and I can block that number, and a fictious address from a neighboring town.They do have my work history tho.
These people need to be fined for trying to scam people.

Just received a call from 1-877-789-9861, just reading thru the letter's I see it starts after submitting a resume to NES........this is extremely upsetting.  Surely there is a way for this to be stopped.

This really concerns me. I recently submitted my resume to NES through a normally very respected employment service. It didnt take long for the calls to start coming. If I could AFFORD to go back to school I wouldnt be looking for a JOB!!!

After submitting my resume and application to NES, I too got the call. It only took them 5 minutes before they called. I ended up talking to the woman for about 15 minutes to see what the deal was and she tried her hardest to talk me into taking online classes from Nowhere, VA! She totally sent my info to other 3rd parties as well. I'm screwed!

Wow!  This is crazy!  Every since I've been submitting my resume in repsonse to ads, I've had an increase in calls from random #'s.  I screen my calls, so I rarely answer any that I don't recognize.  Sure enough they never leave a message.  This number called me today, and 15 mins later another on called.  I did create a profile with NESstaffing...how messed up is that!

OMG! I fell for it too! Go right to the Attorney General folks, the BBB won't do a thing, they are a private business that is funded by membership and gives recommendation out based on what their members have paid to use their logo. Not on the validity of the business! I feel like an idiot!

I also fell for it.  It was a job positing on the CNN site for a Entry Level Receptionist.  I figured amazing job and applied. Not even 5 minutes after hitting submit I recieved a call.

I did the same thing...applied through NES Staffing and now get a call or two every other day from this number. Called today and demanded that they immediately remove my number from their database. I'll let you know if this worked. I seriously doubt it will though. Good luck all....I hope Kharma is a [***] to these scamming people.

Call the number back and request to be taken off there list. I just called them and they were pretty nice about it. Hopefully it works!

I applied with NES Staffing also which is, in itself, a scam...if you see anything in any part of the country for a job that is almost too good to be true, IT IS!  The use the bait and switch and soon after you submit your resume with phone #, etc. you will get the call from the Academic Advising Center - and yes, as those above have said, with noise in the background.  If you are not at home, it will show up as an Unknown Caller.  Or if your machine picks it up it might start in with just "noise" until they realize there is nobody on the line and then they hang up.  IF you answer, then you will see the # on your caller ID.

I, too, have called their number back - people actually DO answer, and have told them to stop calling me or I will call the FCC.  I got three calls from them today - one just awhile ago......called up and got a young man who was polite and said 'it wasn't him, personally' and that he would see that I am no longer called.

BS...I'll be called again but I am sending a letter to the FCC about them.....I've kept records of the number(s) they've used, the times/dates, etc. for verification.

Just got a call from this same number.  I applied to a job through NES Staffing.  Biggest mistake ever.  They sell your email address and phone number.  I logged into my NES account and deleted all my information.
They use various tollfree numbers also.

I got a call from this number, I answered it but no one said anything, then they just hung up.

I didn't even apply for any staffing jobs, and I still got a call from that number...

They got my number off my online resume.  I have a bachelor and masters degree and have not shown interest in furthering my education or contacted any such advising center.  This is a sales person or recruiter trying to interest you in attending college.  The return number they gave was 888-473-7095 but my caller id showed they called from 877-789-9861.  I called them and told them I knew how they got my number and that I am not interested in talking to anyone about furthering my education and matching me with a college and politely asked them to add me to their DNC (do not call) list.  The lady on the other end of the phone pulled my info using my telephone number, asked if I was Rose, and said she has now added me to the DNC list.
