I got a call from this number they left a message to call this number back and said that they had a complaint that had been filed against me?  Does anyone know who this is?

I had someone check my credit using an inquiry the other day.  I called and asked them who it was, they said "Orchard Bank".  I called Orchard Bank because I have an account with them that is in good standing and they said just ignore it, relax, it is just a scam.  Now I get a call from someone telling me to call this number because I hav a judgment against me and I am being taken to court.  He told me to call this number if I am unable to be at my home within the hour.  I explained I am at work and would not be there - so he suggested I call and tell them this.  Since this is clearly a scam, I am not going to call.  How do I report this to the FBI??  Since I know that the organization that pulled my credit is in California, does that constitute fraud across state lines?  Thanks for any help with this.  Thanks!

I got a call and they told my co-worker that i have a court summons and gave her a case #. I have no idea what this is.  Can someone help me with what i shoudl do?

Be careful, it's a scam, they will call that someone have file a complaint and taking legal action. I told them I need to see the police report. They hang up on me right away.

Same thing happened to me, but I ended up being cussed out by a mr riveria at rpa. I intend to investigate this and get my lawyers on it as soon as possible.

Every summer I get a phone call from these people.  I also got a "stern" talking to as if I was the person's child.  Last summer I stupidly made a payment  as it was the third time I was being contacted.  Luckily when I said that I would contact the police I was given a different number, that department was extremely nice and then got a call back from American RPA and the following day my money was returned.

Once before I dealt with being served and not once did they call me ahead of time and tell me that I needed to call within the hour so that they could stop having someone serve me!  I received a letter informing me that this was the next step and American RPA claims they sent me a letter 45 days ago, which is certainly NOT the case.  There is obviously something wrong.  I actually checked my credit report the time that I made the payment and the minute the account number they gave me and that which was on my credit report didn't match, is when I made the call and was clear on giving that information and boom, got my money back.

Why are they still calling?  Why is their number blocked?  Why is it always Mike Jones?  I'm baffled.

I got a phone call from this number, and they said they had a summons against me for a previous account that got supposedly sold to them. Thay called themselves arpa. I asked them if they had a website so i could look them up and they said they didnt have one. Not to mention they originally called me private. I told them I wanted to settle my account and to send me the settlement papers so it can be clarified. They said they already sent them and that they cant send them again, but they would send it to my email address. I gave them the email and looked it up later that day and saw the address they are supposedly at and googled it. IT WAS A CLEANERS. I CALLED IT TO SEE IF THE CLEANERS WAS STILL THERE AND THEY WERE! This was today, sept. 9 2011. So please to anyone whos gets a phone call saying a debt is owed, do your research. They should always be able  to provide paperwork, and info on the company.

I have received several calls from them at work within the last week.  They actually spoke with my boss....not good!  I'm trying to find out who they are to send a stop contact letter, but can't seem to find any information on them.  I found out through another website that this is actually reported to the FBI and they are stating it is fraud.

I received a call from these people and later found out that they are a scam.  The called again two weeks after they were going to deduct money from my debit account, when I told them it was a business number they were calling and that I discovered them to be a scam they haven't called back in the last 20 minutes.  The original call back in mid January told me if I did not call 877-801-7940 in one hour that I would be served with papers, and that by calling this number I could avoid being served papers on my job.  They did not give a company name, location but seemed to have some correct information on me.  They claimed to have mailed me a letter and I did not respond, I never received a letter from these people.  They are possing as ARPA out of Corona, California and Lake Elsinore, Ca which that address is the address of a Western Union.  You will not find any company information on line for these scammers.

I also received a call from these people telling me basically the same thing they told you, a letter mailed 45 days ago, and that in order to stop them from serving papers on me that I had to call in one hour.  This person identifies himself as Steven Anderson

These people called me several times this year claiming to give out free cruises, they were process servers, sheriffs, police and lawyers from different phone numbers with different caller ID names, but never stated they were from RPA until today. Threy even threatened me saying the sheriff is coming to my house to arest me. They spoof the numbers making it look like it came from one place when it came from the other and tell you they have a summons with your name on it, and then leave a case # and different phone # to call back.

I get "Out of Area" on my caller ID, and I believe them to be related to Portfolio Recovery,Portfolio Litigation Services LLC  and some other Litigation Group . Today the caller ID read Upland CA.  All of these numbers are supposedly linked together and based out of Ca and WA. Here are some of their other phone #s:

Google this # and look @ the 800notes thread for 877-801-7940.  There is an interesting FBI case warning available that might interest some of you.  It was a FBI case against this same group of people.

Some of the names they use are Michael Johns, Michael Jones, Michael Garcia, Joseph Abbott, Mr. Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Steven Anderson, Daniel Walker, Ricky Taylor, Joshua Burke.

I got three calls from this place over the last 2 weeks, but I didn't do my home work before agreeing to make a payment. The story they gave me was identical to the ones recounted here. They went by the company names of RPA and Calmar & Associates out of Upland CA although at the beginning the calls just said "legal office"

The names I have are Nolan Steele and Liberty Prescott.

they are probably using google voice to come up with all these different numbers that can be linked to one cell phone, thats why they are probably able to make all these different numbers., Plus I wouldn't trust the names, because if they are scammers they are probably using fake names as wel... Someon needs to put an end to this..
