Report a phone call from 877-828-4037 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Carrie| 3 repliesThis company collects debt - they called my cellphone and were truly obnoxious even though they had the wrong number (I guess the previous owner of my cell phone had bad debt?) They were rude, pushy and refused to believe that I wasn't "Mrs. Miller" and when I told him again that he had the wrong number he said "well Im not customer service" and taking care of you is not my problem - they bogusly sell themselves and "Debt solutions" When I called back they gave me someones voice mail and he never called back.
- Caller: Online Information Services
- JustRuss| 1 replyThey call with an untraceable number [comes up as "Unknown Caller" on most caller IDs] and then read off their bogus "if this is not XXX hang up now- if it is XXX then do not listen to this message in public..."
Funny thing... Because they don't identify themselves except AFTER stating "don't listen in public" and if it's on an answering machine message- their little collections tactic is BS- it's considered FTC finable.
Keep calling - I'm collecting all your beautiful calls for my $1000-a-pop lawsuit. - "out of area""Brooks" answered the phone when I called the call back number. They are obnoxious! I asked for the name of their company, and they said "none of your business" and then hung up on me. I kept calling them back, being as harrassing as they have been to us. Each time I called them, they were more and more rude and continually hung up on me. I can't stand debt collectors...they are so slimy. They don't even have the right phone number. They keep calling for some guy. I'll harrass you as many times as you harrass me. But, next time, I'll record it...and call the police!
- Caller: Debt collectors of unknown name
- LCcalls several times a day, only left two voicemails asking to call back this number if you are not the person they are looking for.. it's a debt collection agency. the voicemail asks you not to listen to the rest of the voicemail if you are not the person they are looking for, including 3 second pauses for you to change your mind.
- Tensas22They have been calling my number looking for a "Donald Husthatler" (spelling?) for several months now. Finally, I decided to call back on my own dime (they were call my cell phone). They hung up on me 3 times in a row when I "aggressively" told them I was not "Donald Husthatler" (spelling?), before I talked to someone who took my information.
If this really is a federal violation, we should ban together to put these folks out of business.
Thanks for the information.- Caller: Company On-Line
- Call type: Debt collector
- Tensas22 replies to JustRussIs that right Russ - $1000 per call? Is that only because you were on the "No Call List"? I think we did register for that, but will have to confirm with the wife.
Still think we all should get together to put them out of business. - Tensas22 replies to CarrieThanks Carrie for posting.
I just had a similar experience. I really believe what they are doing is illegal and if not technically illegal we should do something to change that.
I live in Florida and I'm going to copy my state and Washington representatives. They picked on the wrong little guy!! - Tensas22Okay...did a little on-line research and I believe I found where the calls are originating. On the voice mails they left me, they leave another telephone number 252-754-1636. When I called that number they gave me the company name as "Online Informat". I did a reverse trace on the number, and I found the number was registered to an address at 35.6106 Latitude and -77.3767 Longitude. This is approximately at the conner of S. Pitt Street and Bonners Lane in Greenville, SC. A related address that was given was 1206 S. Charles Blvd, also in Greenville, NC (ZIP code 27858) - their name was "Online Information Services". These two address are fairly close and interestingly are fairly close to the University of East Carolina.
When I went to "Street Zoom" of the Pitt and Booner addresss, I noticed the cars parked across the street looked like Law Enforcement vehicles. I believe this is the parking lot for the University of East Carolina Campus Police. Also, I noticed the building where the alleged caller is calling from has two store fronts - the one on the left when looking at the building is called "911 Gear" and the second appears to be a barber shop. They are at the approximate address of 600-604 S. Pitt Street, Greenville, NC.- Caller: Online Informat / Online Information Services

- petmommy| 1 replyDebt Collectors – Collection Agencies – do NOT fall under Do NOT Call registry, as they are not telemarketers. However, they do constantly violate other Federal Laws, because us American's don't know the laws to protect us. They are counting on that.
- Federal Law says you don't have an obligation to Collection Agencies or Debt Collectors; you can send them a written letter and they cannot contact you after that. This includes Attorney's in state's other than your state of residence. The only Attorney's that can sue you, have to be licensed in your resident state.
A word of caution: Some Law Firms do have Firms in other states, and Lawyers licensed in other states, so you have to do a little research before sending a Cease & Desist (Do Not Call & Go Away letter) to make sure they aren't in your resident state or you're likely to get sued by these #%#&*@!#%&@$^*.
Once a debt collector makes contact with you, they also have to contact you within 5 days after the first phone call, letter etc., and give you validation/proof or judgment of the debt. You are not required to ask for it. They never do this!!!!
This law is known as the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act. You can get it at FTC.gov; as well as other Consumer Protection Laws.
Most collection agencies, purchase your delinquent debt for pennies on the dollar. Guess what? It is no longer your debt!!! You don't have any agreement/contract with the debt collector or collection agency. Your only agreement/contract was with the original creditor.
Do NOT agree to any payment arrangements, or you'll be creating an agreement/contract, where upon initial contact by the Debt Collector, one didn't exist. The collection agencies are counting on you not knowing this little bit of information.
The best advice I can give you is, do NOT talk to them - they will leave you in a frustrated heap on the floor. They lie, and will tell you whatever they need, in order to get you to commit to paying them.
The lies are illegal, but they honestly don't care, they're probably on commission for how much they collect from you and others like you.
If you do answer the phone, do NOT give out your employer, social security #, DL #, Credit Card and/or Bank information, or any personal information. Tell them to send you a written statement & you'll respond. Then hang up. When you get that statement, google, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you'll probably find a letter you can send them Or: send the letter I’ve enclosed that I use. Sign and mail that letter Certified Mail, so you have a signature and confirmation of delivery!!!

Dear :
I am in receipt of your demand for payment. However, this Notice is to confirm that I do not wish to be contacted again by you, and that you are hereby put on Notice to Cease Communication pursuant to 15 USC Section 1692c(c). Failure to comply with said Notice, shall result in a complaint filed and submitted to the Federal Trade Commission, and possible legal remedies in an appropriate United States District Court.
Your representatives have also been trying to contact me, however, I only do business of this nature via mail. Therefore, I am requesting again, that you cease and desist from calling me or contacting us in any way.
Please remove the phone numbers XXX XXX-XXXX. The calls constitute harassment at this point, which is causing a major disruption in both my business and personal life as well as being an invasion of my privacy, which I will not tolerate.
If you continue to contact me, I may file a complaint with the Attorney General. The Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991, which branched from United States Code Title 47 sect 227, implemented a do-not-call list from solicitors, which mandates a solicitor to abate phone calls to customers who have requested in writing to cease all phone communication.
In addition, PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT, I am not waiving my right, to dispute the alleged debt asserted herein, but at this time I am under no obligation to respond.
Sincerely,
Your Name

In the Law of Novation: if a debt is purchased by another, for that to be a legal owed obligation, a new contract / agreement has to be written and signed by all parties. Google Law of Novation and read up!!!
No I am not an attorney, just a well knowledged, educated consumer. I have spent the past 2 years studying various Federal Consumer Protection Laws.
I wasn't just satisfied knowing I could send a letter to a Collection Agency/Debt Collector and they had to go away. I read that in the Fair Debt Collector practices Act law; I needed to know why, what law tells me the reason why I can.
Everything I have typed, I have learned basically on my own through reading, studying, printing out and binding the laws and underlining/highlighting them. Not to mention the knowledge I have gained on my own fighting two lawsuits without an Attorney.
I was sued by a Collection Agency, and waiting for a Court date. The Collection Agency Attorney, sent us a letter willing to dismiss with prejudice our lawsuit, if I dismiss our Cross/Counter Claim for Fair Debt Collector Practices Act violations. Oh, I forgot to mention, we do not have an Attorney representing us; and I have not had any legal experience, in the past whatsoever.
I have read / printed & bound, my State's Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Civil Procedure - Evidence. I catch Attorneys on violations of State Rules of Civil Procedure all the time. And our Judge's let them get away with it.
And for those of you who say pay up and quit being a deadbeat; it appears that you have never had your life turned upside down, because a good job, not high paying by any means, but a supposed secure job, got your hours cut by 3/4.
And then a couple years later, as you are just recovering, you lose that job. And when you are in your 50's, a new job is not so easy to come by. And when that happens, then what?
Or what about a major illness, guess you've never had that either - too bad. Maybe if you did, you'd understand why and how people end up getting in financial straights. Not because they chose to, or decided they were going to find loopholes to get out of paying obligations etc.
What if the money isn't there to pay these debts to begin with? We've been barely able to pay a mortgage, let alone credit cards etc. It's easy to tell someone else what to do. I hope someday, something throws your secure little world off its axis, and you find yourself in the very situation as some of us here. Maybe then you'd learn it isn't such a cut/dry situation.
Oh, we've struggled. And the job last hasn't exactly been replaced. We're still behind in our Mortgage and trying to catch up, as with our other legal obligations. I can't work because of various health conditions, or I would, including a part time job at least. My husband started his own company with the tools of the trade, and now contracts for copier, computer, IT technical jobs as he has a computer science degree, and has years of experience in the others, especially the wide format copier / printers / computers.
People, please read the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act; if a Debt Collector violates any one harrassment or other law in there; Federal Laws says you can sue them for $1,000.00 per violation. Do it, and then THEY can pay off YOUR obligations!!!- Caller: unknown

- hrwMy problem is they are calling for someone who no longer lives here. I have told them she has been gone for a year now. According to an Attorney friend of mine (who just happens to do this sort of thing) once we tell them that she no longer lives her. They can be repremanded (in some way) for continuing to call. Problem is getting them to give you the information of who they are. One person told me that unless I gave them another number to call they would continue to call me! NICE!
I have a number but it is a cell phone number that I pay for. As much as they call ME at home I am NOT paying for them to call her on my cell. I have tried to give them her physical address but they refuse that information since I am not her or on her account.- Caller: 877-828-4037
- Brittany replies to CarrieI keep trying to call the number they gave me and it just disconnects me or rings busy! Why give me a number when it won't even go through! Seriously they need to put people on the damn phone my voice mail obviously states my name. Not to mention I have had the number for two years and people will not leave me alone about this (Rios Es Nubia). I have tried the number to call them back multiple times someone please tell me how to get a hold of them.
- Mike WI have had my phone number now for well over 6 years. I get the call from these guys on a DAILY basis and have been trying to call them back just about every time.
"This is an important message for "Tomekia L Artist" (sp), if ... blah blah blah", plainly, I'm not Tomekia L Artist, I have never been, nor has that person ever lived at this address or had this phone number (as I know whom did have it).
I have called the FTC yet they can't do anything because the 877 number is no longer reigistered to anyone... The phone number they give out is PHONY (BOTH!). It seems these guys shoot out these messages just to piss people off.
Thats my peace on the matter. As far as violations are concerned, we have logs of over 800 CALLS by these FERS; any lawyers interested in a pro-bono? These guys are calling sometimes upwards of 10-20 times per week (multiple times per day) on untraceable numbers. (any lawyers that are interested please contact me at gmail through leewellstwothousand (with the numbers instead of spelled out).- Caller: unknown
- tchrinflI keep getting calls from this number for a Mary Eschveta. I am not her! I wish they would stop calling me.

- CindyFI keep getting a call it comes up as as unknown and then they leave a message saying if you are not Andriana Treo which isn't me , I don't answer unknown phone calls I let it go to voice mail they leave this 877-828-4037 to call if you are this person I've had my share of debt collectors and It is a mistake to call them back they will probably harrass you even worse even if its not you they are calling I just ignor it.,
- Dan from Miami| 1 replyWe moved here a few years ago and have been getting them almost everyday, leaving messages. Everytime I call back the 877 # it goes to their voicemail which is too full to leave a message. Well as luck would have it, I reached someone who answered as 'online info' or something.
I told her they keep leaving voicemails for George Reegan or someone who doesn't exist here. When I asked what kind of company they were she cut me off and wouldn't answer, just said 'we'll remove you from the list'. I said ok and then she hung up. We'll see if they actually take me off the list. I wonder if the people who owe this debt just give random numbers out to throw them off. Either way it's really annoying and needs to stop.- Caller: Online Info
- Nancy OrtMy husband passed away almost 2 years ago and now for the last couple weeks I have been getting calls although I leave a message telling them to remove this number. please help! I did not have this number when he was still alive.
- Shironda's nemisisThis black woman Shironda answers the phone with a beligerent tone, doesn't identify herself wants you to hold, you ask who they are, and want you to hold without identifying themselves and states hold while Im documenting an account. I dont know you, much less have an account with you. They must be bill collectors or something. There is a PSIcollect agency on the internet that pops up when you look for information about this telephone number they say they dont have anything to do with them. Its ridiculous something or someone should be able to stop them. Where do they get these wrong numbers from? There should be a law which makes them disclose who they are. Especially with repeated offences. They have this pre-recorded tape and they leave the message on your message center and tell you not to listen any further, its my machine don't record something on it, and then tell me not to listen. Unknown caller? They have to pay a bill somewhere, someone knows who they are.
- FED-UPThis number - 877 ######### has called me several times, always asking for the same person (not me). Although I do know the person they are calling, she has never lived here, and says she hasn't given them my number. How they got it, I don't know, but I am tired of being disturbed by these people. Two times, I have held on, waiting to talk to someone to get my number removed and to give them a piece of my mind, but they hang up before I can say anything. Very maddening, and a little scary.
