These loser are a third party collecting on bad/stale debt from GMAC creditors. By the time this has been given to them, chances are the statute of limitations has run out and you should avoid paying them anything. Once you pay them a single cent, it re-opens the statute of limitations. They barely speak English and the calls originate in India. They must feel they are above complying with United States federal laws, becuase they violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If you ask them to stop calling, they should only be contacting you in writing through the postal service. Check your state for the statute of limitations on prior debt. If it ran out, ignore them. They are outlaws anyway.

Sorry, there is no statute on old debts.  Any legitimate collection agency can "re-attach" the debt to your credit history through any of the big 3, and the game starts all over again.  All they have to do is prove the debt is now theirs to collect, and they must have, in their possession, all of the original documentation concerning the original debt, which the original debt holder must relinquish with the sale of any old/written-off debt.

wrong after 10 years it comes off your credit for good its the law and there,s no way to add it back unless you agree to pay the old debt, you might want to read up on it.yes a debt collector can try to collect the old debt but they can not add it to the big 3, the big 3  wont add it back on if you have proof you payed the debt and the debt collector wont take you proof wait till they take you to court and use there dime to counter sue them trust me i know iv,e done it be for and i made a nice penny off of it.
