This number comes up as "Toll Free Call" several times a week.  We teach our kids about stranger danger and how we should never talk to strangers.  "Toll Free Call" is on my "stranger danger" list.  I never answer.

This number calls sporatically throughout the week and they never leave a message. Not sure who they are or what they want. I am on the National DNC list. I have not called the number back yet to see what it's about.

Don't waste your time.  They're low-life debt collectors trying to get money from old debts.

They are World Recovery Service. Address is 7113 West 135th St, Overland Park, KS 66223. Phone number is also 877-813-1677. Fax 816-817-0556. To stop their calls fax and then mail a Cease and Desist letter. It must be certified with a return reciept requested. You can get the letter from the internet for free. They can only mail you letters then, and only if they have a valid claim that they can provide proof for, and proof is not a bill saying you owe them. It has to be some legal document with your signature. Also, note that some debts, if long enough ago, are not collectable. If the date for collecting has expired, they are out of luck. Be sure to read the rules for your state. Also, they have to be registered and licensed in your state.

Under federal law, a debt collector must stop all communication with you if you demand in writing that it do so. A "verbal cease and desist" is meaningless. See the link below for more information.
