Just received an automated call saying that it was the Barclaycard fraud division and there may be a problem with my card. They said to call the same number. I don't have a Barclaycard but I called it anyway. The recording says that in order to discuss my card, I must first key in the entire card number, which I didn't. It kept repeating that I should press 1 if I needed more time to find my card. Then it finally said to call back later when I find my card.

Just like azgirl, I got an automated call claiming it was the fraud department for my Barclay's MasterCard. I don't have such a card but pressed 1 because I wanted to ask a live person what this was about (in case it was some store credit card I haven't used in 7-8 years). Same automated messages to key in my card number, no option to talk to a operator.

Just received the automated call like others regarding possible fraud on Barclay World Mastercard.  I don't have such a card.  I hung up without speaking to anyone.

just got a call from this number on my cell phone - recording said they were the fraud department of Barclay World MasterCard.  I never heard of it, don't have one...only option was to press 1 to take more time to find my card or to enter the 16 digit number of my card.  Could not speak to a human to find out what this was all about - total scam, of course.

Beware -- this is a fraudulent attempt to gather personal financial information.  Do not respond to the call and definitely do not enter any credit card information.  Take a look at the post earlier that attempts to claim that the call is a legitimate call from Barclays.  Ask yourself, would any legitimate financial institution allow an employee to post that in that style?  They can't even spell ascertain.

Your response is terrific evidence that this is completely fraudulent.  Since you can't spell and have terrible grammar it's clear that you're not representing an actual financial institution.  Thanks for doing such a great job of sabotaging your own scam.

This is a fraud company trying to get you to enter your mastercard number.

    Hopefully they die of cancer.

yes this is a total scam. Barclaycard services the US Airways mastercard which I have but I decided to call the number on the back of my card instead of this number and they confirmed that it is a scam. I then blocked my callerID and called this number. There is no way to get to customer service. they require a valid credit card number (which I made up using an online credit card number generator website). once you enter that they as you to enter your pin, then they ask you to enter your expiration date.  This is so wrong.

Same story as everyone else - just got the call and same message about fraudulent activity on my MasterCard (which I do have, but nothing with Barclays in the name.). I listened to the whole spiel and was about to press 1 expecting for it to take me to an operator to discuss it further (since I had misplaced a separate card earlier in the week and had recently travelled out of state.) but then decided I really didn't feel like dealing with all of that at this moment so opted to call back.

Luckily I researched the number first , as I would do before interacting with anything like this. I feel so sorry for those who fall for low life scams like this.

Just got the same call.  I don't have a mastercard so figured it was fraud but called anyway and they asked for the 16 digits...definite red flag...so I hung up!!  Also said to check out site at barclaycardus.com...but would not advise to go will probably put malware, spyware or virus on computer!!
