- Blaine| 1 replyReceived call. No message left. Call identified only as "Toll Free."
- Ann NoyedGot a call from 8778425169. Caller ID just shows "toll free call". Apparently, the caller is not too proud of who they are. I answered and it was from the March of Dimes. I've asked them to stop calling because they call and mail too many requests. I again asked the man to take my name off the list, stating that I'd asked before. He said there was no note of that. Pretty convenient that no one knows anything. Anyway, it's some fund raising company probably hired by the March of Dimes, assuming they really are with the March of Dimes and not some scam artists.
- Caller: March of Dimes
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- StrangerI've gotten a few calls from different numbers that caller ID only identifies as "toll free." Based on quick searches of this number, it could be March of Times, it could be a company outsourced by March of Dimes, could be a scammer. But the frequency which they call and their lack of leaving messages makes it all very questionable.
- annoyed residentI receive calls from this and other numbers that appear to be the March of Dimes. When I pick up the phone and say, "Hello" they just hang up. If it really is the March of Dimes, this does not make me want to contribute to their cause.
- BombardedI've had random calls from many different toll free numbers and Google searches all point to them being from March of Dimes. Pissing off people is not the best way to help your cause.
- fer| 3 repliesI wonder if March of Dimes reads these posts. I get many, many calls from many, many different numbers that end up being from March of Dimes. Even when I block them, they continue to call.
I once contributed to M of D every year, but I will NEVER, EVER give them another dime because of their continued harrassment. - bkktI've been receiving phone calls from them.... NOT too happy to get a call on Saturday am, as that is my husband's ONLY day to sleep in. I fnally pick up to tell them to stop calling (plus i'm on the "Do not call" list) and I hear, "Mrs. Moore?" I say unhappily, "You have the wrong number." His response, "Ok, whatever that name was, sorry." Really? I'm livid. Is there a number I can reach them back at? I want to go off...don't mess with a woman that's 8 months pregnant trying to take care of her overworked husband. NOT in the mood.
- bobI'm receiving these calls as everybody else is, but not answering-no message left (caller ID 800 service)... however once I will and say "FBI how may I direct your call"
- Richie replies to ferThat's for SURE...They constantly call and send mailings for money. I originally contributed on my own because I do feel it's a good charitible organization...but ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!
I now concentrate my gift-giving to the Salvation Army. They don't harrass you at all... - EmilNo message left. Call identified only as "Toll Free." Did not pick up phone...Called before
- Big DogI received a call from 877-842-5169 and the caller ID displayed, "800 Service". I answered it and it was a woman from the March of Dimes. I told her that I only donate to local charities and hung up.
- Caller: March of Dimes
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- B-bReceived one of many calls from 877-842-5169; this most recent one late on a Saturday afternoon. Caller ID only said, "Toll Free Caller" with the number. Did not answer and they hung up on my voice mail. I immediately called the number back and it said, "Thank you for your interest in the March of Dimes" and gave no options of trying to speak to anyone or of leaving a message...Only option was to 'Press 1' for more information on the March of Dimes and when I didn't press anything, I was disconnected. Getting really tired of three phone calls a week from this number while leaving no message as well as the multiple calls per week received from other marketers. (If I don't immediately recognize the Caller I.D., I don't answer.) So much for being registered with donotcall.gov
- Caller: March of Dimes or some telemarketer representing themselves at M.o D.

- Lew| 1 replyI keep receiving calls from 877-842-5169, and when I pick up they hang on. Verizon, as usual, has been worthless when I have tried to contact them or to put a stop to these phone calls. Anybody know a Federal phone no. to contact?

- JimHThese people are the usual fraudulent phonies that call from the same boiler room using different toll-free numbers and phony computer-generated numbers. They are fraudulently misrepresenting that they are calling for the March of Dimes, American Heart Association, ADHD, Disabled Veterans, credit card interest reduction, or anything else, They are beyond the last people on Earth that I would give a credit card number or SSN to over the phone. Most, if not all, of the funds collected for the phony charities will go to the so-called fund raisers. In addition, there is the real, and it happens every minute, risk that if you say $10.00, the bill will come back with $100 or $500, or more, charged to your credit card. You can complain to your credit card company, usually talking to someone in a foreign country that is nasty and hates Americans, and they will tell you to stuff it. The bottom line is to never give an unsolicited caller with an "Unavailable." "Out of Area," or anything similar, phone number your credit card data over the phone. I don't trust the websites of so-called charitable organizations either. If you really want to contribute to a charity, check out their expenses first, which can be obtained from IRS public records online. You will be utterly shocked to find that many of the supposed prominent, old line charities spend 90% or more of their contributions on exorbitant executive and staff salaries and other expenses. It was also publicized on CNN that several supposed veterans charities collected millions and millions in donations, but did not give out single penny for the benefit of veterans.
If you want to really donate to a truly worthy organization, contribute to your house of worship. Regardless of your religious persuasion, you will be blessed for it.
