Recieved multiple calls and a message left for me that said, "This is Asha, and I have very good news for you.  Please call back at your convenience" or something along those lines.  When I returned the call, I was put on hold for quite some time, and I never got an answer.  About 10 minutes after waiting on hold, I remembered hearing about certain fraudulent calls that are just ways to get me to wait on hold and they then cost me money as I wait on hold. As soon as I thought of this, I felt pretty stupid for even half way falling for it, and I hung up.

I usually dont get a message. But this time they used my name(?) IT was a human!!!  don't like that,cause I don't owe anybody,and nobody owes me!  Can You Say I.D. theft! NOT AGAIN!...note to self............never marry a pretty face again!  C-YA    DRUM-ON

Got a call and missed it. Called back and
got a live person (african american gentleman) who
knew my name. He told me I had won $1000 dollars
for an internet shopping spree and that I would be
mailed something. Then asked me which credit card
I used most often. I told him that I used none during which
moment there was an interruption to the line resulting
in a hung up call.

just got the same call as "ed" ^ i got the call the first time and got a live person (mine was a younger lady) she told me that i had been chosen for a $1000 online shopping spree, they would send the info to my house. She told me that it was mine to spend do whatever i just could not go over the $1000's. She asked me a question about my age and then credit/debit cards then asked me to hold while she transferred me to the manager for more information.. i was on hold for about 20 seconds then got an African American older lady. there was lots of background noise, but she was telling me something about how i would be given a free vacation (naming places) if i would try out a discount card all that was required was a small shipping and handling fee. then the call was interrupted and lost. i called back and they recognized me and re transferred me. i asked if what she was offering was required and she said "oh no not at all, its just something for you to take advantage of if you wanted" then she thanked me for calling back and for waiting and that was that. everyone i spoke too called me by name...scam??

Oh my gosh... I got that call too. And like Ed said it was indeed an African American gentlemen. He also said that I won $1000 for getting registering in www.bettergifts.net. I did fill out the thing that came from my email, that said 'You have won $1000 Walmart gift card'. And then this guy called, and I really didn't know if this was a identity theft or something... For a moment I thought it was REAL~!!
**How can I get rid of this guy knowing my name and my informations!**

Also the man was asking for my age, credit card #.... It was scary.

shoot... i got as same as others.. the guys also knew my sister's name even we're international student. damn it...  i thought some company or bank which i use selling my information just like my hometown. but how can i notice this number or block this damn number?

Just ignore is... that's the best way.

i got a call yesterdaqy saying i won 1000$ shopping spree on the internet, all they needed was my credit card info, luckily i dont have one, i was going to believe it till i looked the number up on this site.

We JUST got this call and they hung up on my husband when he told them he was NOT giving them his credit card number.  He was told he got a $1000 shopping spree too.  He called back, they knew his name, they would NOT give out their names either.  Said they were Reading America but their website was www.selectyourgifts.com  My husband is going to turn it into the Attorney General tomorrow so they can look into it.
