It's not blue cross, it's a scam.  Don't give them your info.

Jim, thanks for the info.  I did not call the number back.  In my past experience, a legitimate caller from Blue Cross will leave a message.

Just an FYI, I just got this call as well (it's about getting notifications via phone, text, or email) and started to reply and thought it sounded suspiciously like a phone scam so didn't give anymore info. And, they politely told me I could also configure it online when I asked.

I immediately called BCBSMA at their main number shown on their site and asked about the calls and they said it actually was legitimate and that they're basically robo calling and only directing to customer service when you choose one of the options. I let them know that their method is not a good practice and basically seems like a phone scam, but I'm guessing they're not going to change it on my recommendation.

Anyway, I still would just not give any info and call back BCBS's number directly if you did want to change your notification preferences. Someone who knows about this could easily do this themselves and just copy your info.

There has been a huge jump in these scam calls lately. This number was from automated phone scammers claiming to be Blue Cross. About 2 weeks ago I got a restricted number calling twice (at 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. a few days later) about "my bank account" -- with a bank I don't use -- being locked. Expect a rise is various automated calls claiming to be services of some kind. Just hang up and don't give any info and you should be fine.

got a call from BCBS about notification services and wanted much more details. i gave them accound number but wanted birthday to access account to change preference. Said no thanks!

i got a call from bcbs and thought wth but i went thou the process and it was appointment about my dog vet appointment everything seems fine just becarefull  when you get this call

You full of crap. Blue Cross doesn't handle appointments concerning dogs.
