Learned that this is Van Ru collection Agency!  Have received MULTIPLE (in EXCESS of 4 calls per day).  The first 3 days, I grabbed the phone, said hello a number of times.  The only "human" I heard was a female cursing and muttering on the line.  Even with all the hello's, she never said anything and went on with her/their conversation(s).  The first time day 2 I grabbed the phone w/ caller ID thinking it could be a legit call from someone and all I got for the rest of the day was dead air (the next 2 times grabbed a phone w/o caller ID).  
Day 3, I got smart, the 2 times they called, I let it go to voice mail.  Now, I will block the number!  Leave a dratted message for whomever to return your call, don't just hang up!  Thankfully on Days 2 & 3, I left the house & found their number multiple times.  ARGH!!!
HIPA Laws be darned, don't say who you are calling for, just give your name, call back number and who you wish to speak to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  How in the world does that violate privacy??

I receive calls from this number about every three days or so (since around September 07). For me, if I say "hello," and a human doesn't respond within 2 seconds, I hang up. There are too many of those voice activated computers now that take about three seconds of you saying "hello? hello?" for me to waste my time.

I have CallZap, a software program that will block calls (sadly, AFTER one ring) that I program it to block. I include ALL "UNKNOWN" and "UNAVAILABLE" and "OUT OF AREA" numbers in my personal block list. If a legitimate person somehow gets roped into one of these groups, and if it's SO important they reach me, I figure they probably already have my email, or they can write me a letter!

Anyway, I KNOW this 877-891-9207 is no one I wish to speak to. Yet last night it rang and I didn't have my glasses on and I grabbed the phone after one ring, but CallZap had zapped it, but THEN my CELL PHONE rang! And I thought, "oh no! It must be someone who knows me who might have gotten zapped!" So I answered my cell and basically it was some black girl, mumbling to another person-- I said HELLOOOOO? And she asks if it's --my name--. I said "Yes. Who's calling please?" She goes back to talking/mumbling to the other person and the only thing I could make out, was "...yeah, it is...uh huh...whad do I do now?" The other person said something, and then they hung up on me!

So I think they are a "number verifier" of some sort. Selling "good" phone numbers to direct marketers. But how the HELL they got my cell phone, I have NO idea. I'll have to go back to every web site I've ever filled out a form and figure out where I put in my cell#.

Strange!  We started ceiving calls from this number about 4 days ago and our experience is similar to the experiences above.  We answer and someone asks for a "parent" and when the phone is turned over to myself or my husband they don't respond and then they hang up.  Odd and irrating.  To my knowledge we've never been on any collection agency lists so I can't confirm anything related to that.

I have been having problems with this number too. They have been calling since October or November asking for a Hellen person and in the begining I told them they have the wrong number. I told about 5 people this now and still I get 4 to 5 calles a day from this number. So now I just send them to voice mail.

this number has been calling my house for months in a name of a child that we adopted a number of years ago.. the child is only 7 years old and they call under his birth name not his adopted name. i called the number back several times and they tell me ok that they will stop calling , but it has only made it worse.  we now dont even answer the call and they leave nasty messages on the machine.

I had a message on my answering machine saying it was a collection agency calling to collect a debt from my 3-year-old son.  The first thing I did was go to the internet to see what's up with that number.  After reading the above comments, it appears to be bogus and I'll just ignore it for now and hope they don't keep calling back.

These people have been calling me for about 2 weeks, several times a day now. at first I picked up and got some guy, very rude, but he knew all my information. He told me things that people shouldn't say over the phone, illegal things. When I call the number back, I get rude people but the all of a sudden they dont know my info. They say I owe some money to a place I've never received anything from or even been there.

These people are the most rude and unprofessional people I have ever spoken to.  They call about 5 times a day and NEVER leave messages.  I finally answered and asked them to stop harrassing me and he began speaking to me in a condescending manner.  I'm not going to take their calls any more.  One time I actually did get a message from a lady and I had a very difficult time understanding her voicemail message.  Very unprofessional and uneducated at the same time!

I talked to my lawyer about this company. It appears they outsource the calling for their collections and are therefore exempt from harassment laws related to collection agencies. They may actually be trying to collect a legitimate debt so beware of their threats to your credit history. The most advisable thing to do is to send them a letter requesting documentation of the debt they claim you owe. When you write the letter send a copy to your state representative, and put their name on the bottom as well. I have been harassed by them for months and this is the only solution I have come across. And I agree with the above statements that these people are uneducated fools who shouldn't be trusted with a butter knife let alone a phone.

i have been receiving calls from this number as well, attempting to collect a debt. It was for an unpaid Hospital bill I was sure i took care of last year! he wanted payment over the phone so of course I said no, send me the information in the mail and then i will pay it. He quickly said ill put it in the mail and hungup...not sure if its legit or not, we shall see!

very rude lady, i filed bankruptcy due to i.d. theft and they are not to call but still do.  have given lawyer # and them case # but very little progress.  they are very rude [***] that carry on conversations to other people in background while on the phone w/ you.  and when you ask them any questions they act like it is an inconvenience to them to even talk to you.  i wish they would all perish in a fiery crash.  just kidding,  (sort of).

Just got a call from this number.  I had trouble before from 2 other collection agencies.  Its seems some of these companies go on fishing expeditions looking for people with similar names and hoping they get a relative of the debtor.  I reported both to the Attorney General and they had to write letters in response.  They don't want the hassle so they take you off the list.

I've bought a prepaid phone and only had it activated for less than 2 days and got a call from this number. No one could even know my name because I did not even leave it when the phone was turned on, so this "company" must be making random calls.

This place keeps calling for a bill that's been paid off over a year ago.  They are very rude and unprofessional, I thought it was a scam because they can never say the name of the hospital right, the name of the doctor my child saw, nor can they say my last name right.  Total phishing scam, I've asked them time and time again to send me proof of the debt, and they can't because there isn't one but they won't even send a letter because they are scared of getting caught.  I told them to stop harrassing me and she hung up right away, but they still call.  Don't give these jokers a dime!

Morons that need to get a real job or new hobby!!!!!!!

These people make the rudest and most unprofessional phone calls.  First of all, you can't understand what they say and when you ask who they are, they hang up on you.  Who are they?  They keep harassing my college age daughter.

I have gotten a call from this number and a couple of others since I changed my number, they need to get a hint that I have no clue who they want or actually understand that I am not the person they are looking for, get a clue people, if i don't sound like a female, then you must have the wrong person or number.

They keep calling me and harassing me. So now i keep calling them and harassing them, they don't like it when the tables have turned.
