This number is generic and used by a satellite... This indicates only that a person try to call you using a sattellite service. No "enormous" bill to be expexted if you call back...except if you call from a mobile for a long time! LAST BUT NOT LEAST NO POSSIBILITY TO TRACE BACK.
Missed call also in Switzerland at 19:26. Then at 21:50 I called back by mistake and a voicemail answered... Can someone tell me more about this number?? thx
My wife missed a call on his cell today (13-aug-08). We live in in Switzerland. She did not picked it up and after she try to call back she hunged up afraid that was a scam. I did a search and I got this link in italian http://www.andreaperotti.ch/2008/08/attenzione-truffa-88213213340.html According to him it seems that the +88213 belong to a satellite network and calling this number would cost about 4 to 5 CHF (+/- 3 Euro) per minute. Who is getting the most out of this? I do not understand it. Swisscom is not the one to risk bad advertisement and I do not think that the a private owner of this number is making any profit in getting called. The only option left is in the Satellite company which might be the only one to benefit from this.
Number should be read as 00 88213 213340 88213 is a virtual country code assigned by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) to Telespazio S.p.A. of Rome, Italy about 10 years ago. All numbers starting by 00 88213 are controlled directly or indirectly by Telespazio. They are intended for special calls to the Emsat network vis satellite. International carrier agreemnets allow your local telephone operator to charge whatever has been agreed to for this international satellite service. Could be as high as 9 euros/minute, maybe even more.
THEREFORE, NEVER, EVER CALL ANY NUMBER STARTING WITH 00 88213 ... unless you really know who you are calling!
They called me about 15 min ago, i picked up and obviously none speaks. The code belongs to Etisalat (mobile phones company)is not the bangladeshi code. I called back and it basically tells u that if you have a voicemail box press this number if you want to set up your account press this number... The chic talking couldnt really figure out what nationality is but the English is terrible.. so who knows.. Some prank shite, i would recommend as well to contact your mobile provider and inform them so they issue a notice to all the subscribers.
I was called on the 14-aug-08 at 20.30 local time (The Netherlands) on my business number. Eventhough, I get called by international customers all day, due to the hacking hype, I do not pick up any unknown numbers and do not call back unless they leave a message. Beware!
