I'm absolutely horrified that this company could have been texting me and charging me 2.00 per call without my consent or permission.  I am a single mom and cannot afford such "trivia" to be coming through on my cell phone bill.
                                          Sincerely, Heidi Keely

They pulled at least $150.00 from my account

I never subscribed nor accepted to receive these messages. I am looking forward to see if I could build a case and initiate a collective legal proceeding against Virgin and I am trying to find the coordinate of the 88588 company.
I used my phone for emergency only and it was close 90% of the time.
My account was at $175.00 in november 2008. I spent less then 10.00 for personnal calls. When I checked my account on  august 28th 2008 the balance was $1.75.  When I called them they tried to tell me that I subscribed to it.
I didn't even know how I could have subscirbed, who was sending it and how to stop it. I think that Virgin should issue a warning to his customers.
I urged Virgin to close my account because I don't trust them anymore and They don't offer the possibility to check your transactions on the web.
If anyone have information on 88588 I am greatly interested

How do I unsubscribe from the service?
There are four ways to stop the service:
1: Via text/sms: Customers can cancel at any time by texting the word STOP to the number they are receiving the messages from (e.g. 88588).  The customer will be unsubscribed immediately.
2: Via e-mail: Customers can send an e-mail containing the mobile phone number that needs to be unsubscribed to info.ca@wixawin.com . The customer will be unsubscribed within 24-hours (during business days, otherwise on Monday after the weekend/holiday).
3: Via telephone helpline: Customers can call the live helpline number 1-866-670-0126 (free of charge, 24hrs). The customer will be unsubscribed immediately. Customers can also call this number for all other questions regarding the service.
    4: Via the unsubscription form

I called the phone company and they said it had to be me that joined this group.  I have texted STOP to the service and got the email back saying they were going to stop - I am out $150 or so...

I only use my phone for work and never enrol or join or respond to anything unless I know the individual.  It irks me that these folks are allowed to set you up and charge you without them having a valid contract in place.  Moreso that there is no recourse for the end user.

I would love to hear about any class action lawsuit.

the 88588 is companie that get you to send them a msg to get(horoscopes, jokes of the day, enter a contest ETC) you see these on tv or on website where they ask you to enter you phone number to find out who your crush is etc... but there is a small print to this it says that it's $1.50(or so depending the company) and it's a suscription service which mean you will receive 3 or so msg a week at $1.50. So they bill your provider and then they bill you. It's not your wireless provider its these companie under variouse name like the one noted above or Verisign/m-qube,Impact, Lipso. No class lawsuit against Virgin at&t, fido etc will work as you some how agreed to these terms or somebody used you phone or number online to subscribe you... these companies are very shady and have been brought to court before. just text stop or stopall to it and it will stop.

I also got msgs and built up charges. I didn't relize there were charges for this game at the time. I relized on my bill and then I called rogers and was informed it was not them. I found out how to put a stop to it but it cost me. I called the company and they would not budge(18666700126). Then I e-mailed customer care but no help there, it's just a quick money grab for them. They know that as soon as people figure it out they stop it.Someone should be able to charge them with misleading subscribers somehow or put them out of business.

This is buller dasher. I was charged 26.25 and i am a literate to this phone that solo gave me. i called customer care all they could do was repeat over a hundred times to just send back the number with the word stop so i did that , the first time they told me and again they kept repeating " send back the message with the word stop" they never helped one bit, i realize that 26 dollars is nothing but when i have never had a cell before until i got sick, and its my emergency phone. some emergency phone . i live on a tight budget due to my sickness) and this is the 3 month i got charged. my daughter finally noticed it. they cant help and this is fraud how can they charge u for something u dont even use and i didnt even read the message. crocks . my daughter is with telus ( which is in canada) and the last person who had her number had a joke of the day sent to her well it costed her over 300 a month so she simply called telus and they credit her the amount back. dam cell phone companies they are just a bunch of people who have to scam you so they can get a bonus. looks to show you how much education they have on the business.
