- anjin| 4 repliesIt is the NRA.
- cc| 3 repliesi got calls from this number and am a member of the NRA. I will not be renewing my membership as I feel they are trying to "shove" stupid stuff in my face. They need to leave me alone and lighten up.
- Caller: I think NRA
- Lori| 3 repliesIt's National Recovery Association. NOT NRA.
I'm a life member of the NRA and never received a solicitation call. This is a debit collector looking for someone that I was listed as a reference for years ago.- Call type: Debt collector
- Bob| 12 repliesTo all the pro-gun zealots trying to defend the NRA: it is in fact the National Rifle Association. I was forced to join to participate at a range and have been receiving these calls ever since joining. Every person I have talked to that is a member of the NRA gets these calls. Some have even been suckered into "donating" more money to their _Fill in the blank_ Soldiers Fund. If you really want to help an injured soldier, find one in your neighborhood, it's not that hard to do, and cut their grass, wash their car, paint their house, give them a ride to the VA...anything but sending your money to these idiots who may give $0.05 on your dollar to our disabled soldiers.
Call the number: "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association, we are very sorry we missed you....."- Caller: National Rifle Association
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Bill| 1 replyI received a call from this number and they hung up. I wasn't going to answer anyway and the number is now blocked.
Careful!!! It could be some anti-gun group calling themselves the NRA in order to reduce the membership of the National Rifle Association. - JaneWho called from this number and why
- Jane| 1 replyWhy are we receiving so many 800 calls and other unknowns as well. I have subscribed to Do Not Call but they continue to come.
- John Williams replies to BobThe NRA will remove you from their calling lists .... just call them and ask. Stop the bad-mouthing and use your brains.
- Malcom Wright replies to BillThis has happened on several occasions...the antis will use any tactics to whack gun owners...I had some granny after about 10 minutes, actually admit she was not the NRA.
- Thomas Hopkins replies to Bob| 1 replyWhat pro-Bloomberg antigun organization do you represent?
- Lisa - Mobile, AL replies to Thomas HopkinsThis is so true...many here are not whom they claim to be.
- RobertI have called back and I got a recorded message saying they were the National Rifle Association but I'm not sure. I also got a call from a different number which I answered, also identified as the NRA. The person tried very hard to get me to donate even after I told her I had just sent a generous donation to the NRA by mail. I think this may be a scam calling themselves the NRA but are not really and are scamming people out of money.
- Caller: NRA
- CPProbably is NRA. We get calls from other NRA numbers including one "private" which I answered (and hung up). Why can't they wake up. All they r doing is driving people off. Heck with being a member if they r going to hound me.
- Caller: Don't know for sure
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Shirley ReimusThis number 888-202-2385 calls us every day and sometimes twice or more times a day. Please make them stop...
- Caller: nra
- Roland Drake replies to BobQuote: "To all the pro-gun zealots trying to defend the NRA: it is in fact the National Rifle Association."
I smell hypocricy. Here's someone who participates at a RANGE with a GUN who doesn't support anyone else's right to own one. The right to self defense is a basic human and civil right and there's nothing wrong with being zealously pro-civil rights or pro human rights. I emailed the NRA and they replied yesterday and said they'd stop the phone calls. - TALLYWACKER replies to anjin| 1 replyIt is not the National Rifle Assn...even though they have stolen the NRA logo...it is the
National Recovery Assn...a bunch of scammers trying to work your credit card
balances and interest rate with their gimmicks....sooo keep your Nat.Rifle Assn.
memberships and block these jokers....hope this helps!!!! - Leave us alonecall my phone number again and I'm reporting you. I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST. STOP calling!!!!
- C. SiegfriedI am partially disabled. These phone calls are very annoying. Don,t like to hurry to answer phone.
- Caller: 888-202-2385
- Captn Casey| 1 replyI received a call from 888-202-2385. There are several posts that incorrectly list the number as one used by the NRA (National Rifle Association). The reality is that the NRA (National Rifle Association) is being unjustly criticized for calls being placed by a Harrisburg, PA based Collection Agency. The agency also uses NRA on some of their calls where they have not blocked the Out-Bound caller ID.
The NRA (National Recovery Agency) Web site is at: http://www.nationalrecovery.com/ They have approximately 50 phone numbers that they utilize to make their collection calls, and they use a variety of area codes to conduct their business, The National Recovery Agency will call you at any time during the day or evening, never leave a voice mail, and possibly call you that same day from an alternate number.
The best thing you can do is check your Caller ID on incoming calls. Avoid the numbers that you do not recognize, and let that call go to voice mail. You may also want to get "Call Blocker" for either your home or mobile phone.
I installed Call Blocker on my mobile phone approximately 6 months ago. Since then I have record of receiving 254 Blocked Calls from 58 numbers that I have blocked. Many of those calls were from the NRA (National Recovery Agency). A Call Blocker also gives you the ability to file a complaint against the harassing caller with the FCC.
As an example, I received a phone call from DirecTV regarding my account. I discussed the matter with their Customer Service Representative. We were able to identify that 1.) my account was up to date, and 2.) that the person who previously had mobile phone number had listed it as the alternate phone number on their account. DirecTV updated their records, and calls from DirecTV stopped.
Do the research before you complain about the NRA ((National Rifle Association) since it could really be a collection call from the NRA (National Recovery Agency).
Please also consider reviewing the "Collection Agency List," started By Amerikaner83 , Jan 19 2008 10:45 AM at: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/community/top ... on-agency-list/
Please also consider that you may have the right to sue a Collection Agency. Please review the information at: http://www.yourlegalrightsadvocates.com/ to determine if you have a case.
- Caller: National Recovery Agency - ?
- Cliff replies to JaneI had the same issues. After you get the unwanted calls, go to the national do not call website and report them. After they get fined heavily numerous times, trust me, they'll stop.
