This number is a professional fund raiser who is for hire from anyone. I called back and put my number on their do not call list. You have to enter you number to be removed. This may be a good sign, or I made a big mistake. Will see if they actually remove it.

There seems to be several of these outfits that make calls for charities; or fundraisers.  MDS, "California", "Telefund", "Anahiem", etc.

Please, ranting about how useless the fed DNC list is is fruitless.  If you receive several calls from one number, report it.  They do take action if they get enough complaints.  Also, if you're serious, contact your senators and congressman and ask that the FTC regs be changed.  The DNC list is hampered by FTC regs; like allowing all these outfits to make calls for charities.

True scammers get around the regs by using different numbers after a few months; before they can be shut down.

Now, now, Let's be accountable for our own actions as well......THINK before you DO

First, let me say that every time you fill out a request for ANYTHING online, in a store--think Rewards & Freebies or any New Account, you are giving permission for a telemarketer to call you...even if you are on the Do Not Call list...because it's after that sign up date AND because anyone they give or sell your info to has been AUTHORIZED by you. Read the FINE PRINT of their privacy statement. Some of these Telemarketers are sub-companies owned by them while others are companies they sold your info to.

And if you failed to pay a debt, it will haunt you for the rest of your life. Even after bankruptcy, cause it gets resold forever.

Don't mean to rant back, but come on folks...

YES, contact your representatives. I find it interesting how Americans sit back and rant about how things are, yet don't want to do the legwork. What do you think lobbyists do? Who do you think lobbyists are? This is OUR country...FOR the People, BY the people.....

Any of you members of organizations like NRA or Democratic / Republican National Groups, etc? I belong to Business & Professional Women, American Society of Safety Engineers and other Safety, Quality, other variety of organizations that stand for what I believe in and want to LOBBY to have changed on the Hill.

I and those who actually DO something about what we want changed, are sending letters, emails and making phone calls and personal visits to our representatives to ensure that the people WE voted in are doing what WE voted them in to do as THEY promised they would do. Especially while they're on the floor during the vote.

Why let the big conglomerates do all the lobbying? If they have no competition it's an automatic, very easy win.

If more of my co-Americans would do their duty, we wouldn't have so much to rant about. (Of course there's always going to be an opposite opinion and desire of any outcome.)

So pick your pet peeves and get to finding out where your reps stand on those issues. Ask them to send you the most current data on them. Tell them what you expect and remind them what they promised (look it up 'cause you probably didn't pay attention when they ran). Let's take back OUR country! For the People, BY the People!

    * I found this site because my step son received a call from this number at 8 AM on a Sunday and just said it was a "Personal Matter" which is Collector speak, so I wanted to find out who would be stupid enough to have given him a credit card that we didn't know about.

8:30 pm just after another call from "Life Moments" or something.
I thought being on "that list" was to keep this from happening.
Too old for this. Need my sleep.
