I received a night brace from my doctor and ins paid all but 12.66...within less than a month of getting this I have recieved a bill, a call and another bill and my payment has been sent...of all payments mailed that day they are the only ones that have not cashed the check...I would not use this company again for anything!

Received a call from this company, JLO. It is a company that sells orthopedic braces and supports to Orthopedic doctor's to be sold to patients. I expected to receive a bill from the doctor, not the company. The call came in less than 2 days after the first bill due date.

When I called them, they were nice about it and they said it "was a courtesy call to see if I had received a statement from them". I asked them to send me a new one and I would pay it and they did.

No one calls me except these scamming idiots.

Yup! What all of you said....bill collecter for the brace My doc gave me that I never wore or insurance never paid. Come get your brace JOL ([***] lesbians) or whatever the name is.

Recording asking me to call this number. My number is on the do not call list. Constantly getting calls from telemarketers. I am 80 years old and don't need people calling unless it is my family and friends.

Same thing, got a night brace for my foot and now getting these robo calls.  No prob. I will enter their damn number into as many timeshare opportunities as possible.  So go break a leg.

This is DOn Joy Orhthopedics they provide medical equipment.  Usually larger hsopitals will buy the equipment and bill you, however some, like the last one I had surgery at, submitted mine to the insurance and I got a bill directly from DJO for the balance.  I had the bill for 3 weeks before anyone called me.  I only get paid once a month, had just sent the payment out and called them back.  They were not rude, made a not of it.  And if I get more phone calls, I will come and post as such.  But it was a computer generated phone call I got from them.

I got a call from this number and it was difficult to understand the name.  Until I looked at these posts I could not figure out why they were calling.  I did get a brace at the doctor's office and it was a large university hospital.  Can't understand why I got a bill and a call.  Payment is not even due yet!

At least I from reading these posts I can see that it is most likely the same company calling me as all of you.

Same as others---received a bill from them, even though my claim was still under review by UHC.  I don't pay ANY medical bills until I get an EOB telling me how much I am responsible for....in any event, it was less than a month ago that I was treated and they are already calling (EOB came yesterday!!).  

Not to mention I didn't even know it was over $400 for a stupid foot brace that I wore for a week, or I would have told the doctor NOT to give it to me!

Also should mention that the automated system uses my name specifically and says "please have ___________ call us back".  If anyone happens to know who JLO is, that's a clear HIPAA violation!

MORE DJO scamming ?

Too late now, but you should have checked to see if your insurance had already paid for whatever !

I received a TENS unit from my local hospital physical therapy dept.  They stated it was covered under Medicare and my 100% coverage supplemental, if I needed/wanted to keep it.  Otherwise, it would be a rental for the first 30 days.  I returned it, in the DJO supplied packaging !   Well within the 30 days and over 60 days before I suddenly got a 'bill' from them. . . . .  Both insurances had paid.  

I sent a cert/return receipt letter rejecting their demand as false, and demanded validation of the 'debt' in writing.  Also pointed out I found NO business license for them in Idaho on the state site.

The phone harassment began today.  NO mail response.  FTC is the next response to them . . . .

DJO waits long enough for your memory and ability to dispute is dwindling regarding to situation.

Very simple call, asking me if I had received a statement from them for a balance I had to pay after they billed my Insurance company for my shoulder sling after my surgery.  Advised them that I had not, and they are sending a new statement out so I can pay it.  That's all....There is no scam, they are just following up on any billing for Orthopedic equipment that people may owe either a balance on or a co-pay.

I just now got a call from DJO 888-225-4398, they left a message asking for me by name and an "ID #" for me to call back.
I called back, got a lady named Adrieanna. She wanted me to verify name, date of birth, and address. I asked her who it was calling me and she said that they are a company that supplies medical braces, crutches and such to patients who have been in the hospital.

I said I just gave you an account number that you left on my answering machine and that should be enough to verify who I am, so I need to know why you are calling me. She said that she wanted to know if I received a statement from them. I asked for what? She said that she could not tell me. So....

I said, I did recently have surgery and that I am now in the process of getting the EOB's and Statements from the hospital and Dr's and that if you cannot tell me the purpose of your call then you need to put me on your do not call list and not call again.

Just got a call from DJO. The incoming number was blocked but they did leave a message for my husband. They had his full name. Message was for him to call back, they left the 888 225-4398 number with an ID #. We have no intention of calling them back. Have no idea who they are or why they are calling. It's another scam phone call.

We have received repetitive calls/voice mails from this company - my husband did have surgery recently and may have one of the items they supplied, but we have not received any other correspondence from them via mail. So I am hesitant about all of this and guessing it may be a scam. I did have time to call them today, never got thru to a person - was on hold for about 10 minutes , but since I was at work had to hang up. That to me is strange. I am going to ignore their calls too.

Left recorded message from 888-225-4398. Requested i call back ,gave ref.# to use. Said it was about a recent mailing they had sent, i never called them because it was for an orthopedic wrist brace we got at the doctors office and i had mailed them a check 10 days prior.

Not for them.... they are NOT in the US!
