This is a new one on me. I did not answer the call, but can anyone identify the number?

called and left no message.Got the # off caller ID

Out of Area, unknown number.

These people, who ever they are, are calling every day.  Who are they?

Call every day, sometimes twice, never leave a msg.  Unable to block and "no call list" is of no value!!

Called on 1-2-10 at 9:12am.  Left no message on my machine.  This caller calls my home virtually every day.   A search of the number reveals many references identifying the actual caller as MDS Communications of Mesa, Arizona.  They specialize in right wing, conservative fund raising, but also raise funds for the VFW and St Jude"s.  Reports are they recently got a contract to fundraise for St Judes, so if you ever donated to St Judes, ever, you'll be hearing from MDS.    At any rate, MDS doesn't seem to do too well in getting the funds to the actual charity, averaging around 36% in New York.  ( Check for yourself: http://bartlett.oag.state.ny.us/pfc/index.jsp.  Just type in "MDS Communicaions." )   In 2008, Colorado reported MDS averaged 43.58% getting back to the charities.   The lesson?   If you want to donate to a legitimate charity, MAIL them a check--they'll still look up your phone number and you'll be on the telemarketer list, but at least the original donation went to the charity, not the telemarketer.      NEVER donate through a professional telemarketer.

they asked for Jim Bennett; I have 2 Jim Bennets in my family; when I asked where they got this number, He said is Jim there? I told him No & he said that is all you need to say & the call disconnected...

This is a bogus company that's just out to scam others using a variety of organizational names or political and emotional ploys it thinks will play to anyone who might send it a contribution; stay away from any part of it!

Keep getting calls to my cell from (888) 243-2981.  It has been happening about 3 months.  The phone rings one time and they hang up.

This is a harassment caller.  Report to donotcall.gov

Left the answering machine take the call, they said nothing and hung up.  If it's such an important call, THEN LEAVE A DA_N MESSAGE!

Received call 02/28/11 9:10 am.  Caller left no message.
I called back and voice mail indicated MDS Communications.  There was a polite message indicating apologies if you were called and you didn't want .  They indicated that religous, non-profit and political were not impacted by the DNC list.  They asked that you leave your number and they'd purge your name from their list(s).

They won't bother me anymore.

When you leave your number you are confirming that that is a good number and you will still get calls and they will sell that number to others.

They called.  I answered.  Nobody on other end.  I called back and got message that this number is not receiving calls at this time.  What a nuisance!!

File a complaint with FCC. This is the only way to shut them down.

a woman called asking for Patricia Heil (sp?) no clue who called and no clue who Patricia is. definitely spam--on my cell phone.

I called the number back and there is a recording. At the end it gives you an opportunity to leave your number and request to be added to their "Do Not Call" list. I figured, what the heck, they've already go my number anyway. It says it will take a few weeks, so we shall see if it works.

I get repeated calls from this number. By the time I get to the phone, they have hung up.
  It is VERY ANNOYING. Using *69, to find out who it is, doesn't work. I'M NOT SURE WHY??
  Does anyone else know who it is??
