This is a scam phone number. Do not call it. You will be charged for the call.
It is a few X AOL support employees from India that are phishing for your credit card information. Do not ever give out your credit card information or any other information about you or your family and friends. There are terrorist still around that would like your information as well.. Use your head. If it doesn't seem right it most likely isn't

I received the same type of message,, unbelievable as it's 4 YEARS after the initial post. When I saw the message, it just didn't make sense so I "googled" the phone number and saw all of the warnings. Thank you!
Moral of the story: never click on any link or attachment in an email if you're unsure of its validity and check it out!

Contact AOL directly and ask them what, if anything, they know about this e-mail.  If they are not involved then ask them to  change your information .

Good for you.  There only seems to be one rule of thumb these days and that is to n ever give any information to anyone who 'phones.  The only thing to do if they claim to be a legitimate company is 'phone .that company back using a number you can trust.
It's sad that you can't trust anyone these days.

You mention mtn.com.     The Domain is registered in South Africa and looks as if it could be associated with an energy business.        Hacked?    Avoid...... yup.

This scam is still going on. I recieved this email today. I did not respond , immediately logged into my aol account and checked all my billing info and everything is correct. I also remembered AOL stating that they never ask for account or credit card info via email.

This is the email I received which is identical, word for word, to the emails others have recieved.
