- jesterthey called me and were looking for the wrong person. I actully know the person they were looking for but they wouldnt tell me [***], or how they got MY number. Should I just tell my buddy to say [***] em and not respond to them?
- Curious CallI've received calls from this number for the last couple of days. I always let them go to voicemail. I don't know who they're asking for or why, but they ask me to call back to be removed from the list. I have no intention of calling them back or giving them my name or number because I've heard of the scams where you're called and they ask for the wrong person specifically to get your information.
Other than being irritating, they have no legal connection to me, so i'll just erase the voice mail until something else happens. - AnonymThese people have the wrong number and keep calling.
Don't know what the company is. Don't know why they call. They keep saying they have received knew information- Caller: unknown
- Wade NoxonI never answer and they don't leave a msg.
- PCMThey call my cell phone all the time. I answered and told the woman on the other end to stop calling (she sounded like an operator). She said they would. Ha, yah, right. These idiots still keep calling.

- spikethedogIt's a collection company, "This is not a sales call......it's in reference to (some document number)....a decision will be made with or without you.....It is IMPERATIVE that you call me by today. Again this is in reference to documents so-and-so."
Very stern, very authoratative. I have no idea what the document reference is to, but I do owe some people...... - StacyIt is MRS Collection Co. Capitol One sold my acct to them. They leave a message stating a decision will be made with or without you...it is IMPERATIVE that you call me today. We are refinancing a house and will pay it off but they are so insist that you give them a payment to avoid legal action......

- benjideerYup, me too, they leave a msg and say there is a decision to be made with or without me, kinda creepy... yes I have some things in collection, however have a limited power of attorney with whom they should be speaking with. Just so you know your rights, if you want to respond, you can request who the original creditor is and then ask for validation of all debt to be owed. If tey do not, then it is illegal. They are not legally even allowed to call you if you request every correspondence in the mail instead. Good luck!!!

- SammieTo Stacey and others,
This is MRS Colections, a collection agency in New Jersey. They claim to want some money to fend off any further collection action. The truth of the matter is that they are ALREADY going behind your back to try to attach any assets or wages that they can. It's expensive to do that, so they usually try this trick. The reason that they want ANY kind of money from you is that it resets the legal time to recover debts.
In other words, let's say that your state has a legal debt collection limit of 3 years from tha date of your last payment. (Every state is different. Check your state.) If your debt is 35 months old and ready to go into "uncollectible" status, and you send them even a penny, it resets the debtor date back to day 1, and the 3 years starts all over again! They will now hound you for 3 more years! DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY! DON'T ANSWER THEIR CALLS! LET THE DATE EXPIRE!- Caller: MRS COllections
- Preston LewisIt's all lies. They'll never sue you since getting a local attorney (where you live) would cost them more than what you owed CapOne. Collection agencies commonly use ploys like theats of lawsuits (won't ever happen, too expensive for them) or "a decision has to be made" which is also an empty threat since anything they might decide would be too expensive. Threats, empty threats, and fear is the only way they can ever collect any money. Also, for the person who wants to buy a house, paying MRS off doesn't mean much. You'll still have a negative rating from CapOne and a negative rating from MRS. Also, it will reset the date. If you haven't paid for 4 years, it will drop off you credit report after 7 years so you have only 3 years to go. Pay MRS and their delinquent negative will stay on your credit report for ANOTHER 7 years. Best not to pay them a penny unless you finance company forces you to pay them off in order to get a loan.

- Preston LewisThis is MRS Associates, another collection agency that bends the rules to their satisfaction, makes threats, uses intimidation when they really have nothing else. Hiring a lawyer for a $1-5,000 lawsuit is not profitable for them. They'll theaten to sue but they won't unless you owe a huge amount of money to them. Don't believe their lies, threats, and intimidation like the "we have an important decision to make today". There is no decision to be made. They're not going to spend $3,000 - %5,000 for a lawsuit when they have no proof they'll even get it back if they win. Just hang up. Also don't fall for the "verify" trick. They don't know some info so they'll ask YOU to verify something they don't know (like current address/employer). Don't fall for that. HANG UP! Don't try to engage in a conversation with a well trained liar who knows how to instill fear and intimidation in people. HANG UP! Unless of course you want to arrange payments and pay your bill.

- jennI had payment arrangements set up for a certian date of the month til my bill was paid off.. They took the payment out of my account twice on the same day and then no more after that. So now they are calling me saying that i need to make a payment. I told them that its their fault because I had payment arrangements set up for them to pull the money and they never did. So now they can do it on my terms.. This is the only bad account that i have, and thats only cause cap one screwed me

- ColleenI have received several phone calls from this number for someone I know. They leave a very demanding message that the call must be returned today.
- JENNIFERIn reference to the message left saying Capital One only threatens to go forward with suing you for the money...very incorrect. I am currently fighting a wage garnishment over only $700.00. They did acquire a local attorney to sue me and they will do it to anyone else I'm sure.
- Bellevue, WA, USI called this number ... twice. The first person was NOT helpful at all. They asked for name, last 4 of social, my phone number didn't show up (how could they call)?
So, I marshalled my nerve and called again. The second person was more helpful ... http://www.mrsassociates.com/ ... Address is on Olney Avenue in Cherry Hill, NJ. They are, among other things, a debt collector. What's weird is that they _did_ call my number, but it was my work phone, which didn't show up in their records. We sorted through my last name, first name and state and determined it was a wrong number. Just be cautious.- Caller: MRS Financial Services
- SusandThey keep calling me and my parents in regards to my sister. She says she will callthem back. They wanted her number but I wouldn't give to them. I asked if they are a collection agency and they said that they are a Financial institution. I've told them before not to call. Worried about my sister, she won't ask for help and they are hounding her.
Any suggestions?- Caller: MRS Associates

- TTommyTuckerThese people get paid by the call. When they ask for me I tell them that he is in the yard and to hold for just a minute. I put the phone down and every few minutes I call out "he will be right in" and I try to keep them on the line for as long as possible. If everyone did this it would cut their calls at least in one half and also their pay.

- LeahI've had my current phone number since October 2014 and the woman who owned the number before me was a complete deadbeat so I get harassed by companies like this fairly regularly. I've installed an app called CallX to counteract this kind of nuisance. It records your calls based on your specifications. I don't take chances and just record all my calls. When this sort of thing starts up, I call or answer and let them know that I'm not the person they're looking for, that they're being recorded and that if they call again I'm filling a police report. The difference it makes is that they know they're not allowed to harass people this way and are bound by laws. Normally they'd just keep calling you, but bc they know you'll have proof of their harassment for the police, it kind of forces them to stop. Please keep in mind that even if you owe them a legitimate debt, they still can't threaten you and are actually quite limited about how much they can call and bother you about it. So go out of your way to record them making threats, then file police reports, and sue the crap out of them. I'd tried to block multiple similar numbers coming in from these people and finally called them back. What I failed to to realize is that they use number spoofing (which I'm pretty sure is illegal), so it wouldn't matter how many numbers I block, they'll just generate a new one. You have to get nasty and aggressive with these people, it's all they'll understand and take seriously.
