Scam artist

Scam -on answering machine -caller id# 253-275-3719 -they state your name {their going by caller id's on your line} and say a complaint has been file under your ss# press (8 or 9) to connect or call back this 888# with your file reference#xxxxxx.  They've called before and when I answered they asked for me by name said that person doesn't live here, she goes 'that's funny that's not what the caller id says' I said oh well, she says ok 'ok, good luck in court' I said thank you! She hung up.

They called and left a message "solely" for  Donna Brown, well I just acquired this phone number and I have asked anyone that calls for her to delete this number from their data base, some have done so but it's really annoying when you ask them to stop calling they continue so I no longer answer any calls that does not have a name/company name for that number.....
they also left an 888# with a reference # these people have nothing else better to do??????

Same scenario as previous post. It's a recording stating your name (same as from my caller ID) and that "a document has been received with a complaint attached to your social security #" then they give a complaint # and say you can press 8 to speak with someone directly (didn't work) or call 888-283-5647.

The name/number that showed on my caller ID was actually a call from (612) 806-0770 "Twin Cities, MN"

I suspect they are phishing (I'm on the West Coast and never even been to Minnesota) and are hoping some gullible person will give out their social security #. Don't call these scammers/identity thieves!

I received a call on my voice mail yesterday. What/Who is this and how do we get them shipped to Iraq  as forward guards for our troops?

Left message on my work voice mail, stating they received documents with a complaint with my SSN. Reference number and to call back. I call back and say i received a message would like to know this company name and they very rude female says hold on, as i hear her talking and i said im at work dont have time for this you dont know the company you work for or what. She very rude tone says well we will just send you to court. I said ok, CLICK i hung up...

Just got a message to return a call to the 888-283-5647 with a case # showing it came from a FL #. Glad to know not to call it back. I'm in SD so they must be making the rounds. Only thing I have checked lately is my account on Credit Karma.com. I wonder if their site has been compromised?

Got a phone call and stated name and that they had a claim against me

I received a recorded call from 435-374-4960. They said it was a complaint received against me  and they have my social. I too called these people back and got first a foreign man who kept trying to tell me I owed a debt which I denied, then he did what everyone else described, yelled that they were pressing charges against me.
Then I received a call days later saying it was a law enforcement agent, and was I aware that I owed a debt and was being taken to court. They asked me for my address and to 'confirm' my social. I hung up on them. They try everything to get your info. I can't believe they posed as the police or thought I would confirm my social and address.

Received a message left with a callback number of 888-283-5647. Saying a complaint has been filed against me along with my social security number. Advised me to press 8 or call back the number.

I too received a call from this number. Same as above posts.... A computerized message staffing my name, that a complaint has been filled against me with my social on it, to press 8 or call the 888 number back with my complaint number.  Never called back as I always look up the number first if I don't know it or it comes up unknown. I'm in UT, so yes, they are making the rounds for sure. Why can't they stop these people and how are they getting numbers that are suppose to be on the national "Do Not Call" list?

I get calls all the time from these idiots and others.  They never say what company they are with.  They always aske for other people.  I've had this number for a year now.  It's only for incoming calls which anyone that knows me has my cell number so I always let it go to VM.  Damn crooks need to be beheaded.  Can we ship them to Syria?

Told me my name and related a social security number then I proceeded to tell them it was mine. He raised his voice and stated,"yea yea yea just stop the lying, we'll see you in court", then proceeded to hang up. If this was a legit firm in the first place he would state his firm and he wouldn't be speaking in that matter.

I to got a call from them with that number as a call back number. But the one they actually called from is 270-200-6957. It is a land line and is traceable if anyone noes how to do that.

I received a call today from 888-283-5647 saying I had a complaint filed against me for a debt back in 2003.  I told them even if it was true, the Statute of Limitations for Florida is five years.  Told them to go ahead and try to sue me.  He hung up on me.

Heads up folks. Their fax number is 916-509-7001. They refused to give me their address. Said they didn't have too. Lie. They are required by law to give you a mailing address. They are required by law to send you documents showing your signature, dates of transactions, and locations. If they can't, they have to stop calling you.
  Also, go to the internet and find out what the "STATUE OF LIMITATION FOR DEBT COLLECTION" is in your state. Most states it is 4(FOUR) years. They can ask you for the debt but you can tell them never to call you again, cease and desist all contact.
  I faxed them over 38 pages of information from the net. It showed them that everything they threatened on the phone was illegal. I flooded their fax machine. Ten paged were comments from this page and others about this number.
 Also if they contact you, you can SUE. You have a year from the first contact. You can win $1,000 plus court costs and attorney fees. They also have to be bonded in most states. You can report them to the Attorney General's office.
  If they say "we will see you in court", they can't. They are misrepresenting their power. After four years they can't. If they can't provide you with documents, they are breaking the law. If it is a resolved debt and they say they want the portion not covered in the resolution, WRONG. The resolution covers all the debt. More misrepresentation.
  Fax them a letter. Fax them a copy of your states "STATUE OF LIMITATION ON DEBT COLLECTION",
  Flood their fax machine, make them sweat.

It is illegal for them to call your work number.

Find out the STATUE OF LIMITATION ON DEBT COLLECTION. Most states it's for 4 years.
I sent them 38 pages of information I found on the net that pointed out all the mis-representations they said on the phone.
