It's Cox Communications "Calling to tell you about a special offer". I receive 2 or 3 of these calls per week. I am a COX customer.

I am getting calls from this number at all hours of the day and night and there is never a message left.

I too have recieved much calls from this number too.  I get so sick of it, that I let them hang because I am tired of their harassment and lack of professionalism.

Cox Communications, well they say "Cox" but they keep trying to offer me services that I already have, WHAT THE F***?

Same as Jill's note from Oct 2010 -- randomly timed calls (including 9 PM?!) with no message left.
I don't answer calls when I don't know the number. I need to see if the 'do not call' registry applies to a company you are a customer of...

I was also receiving these calls on my cell phone. No message was ever left.  When number is called it is COX "with a 'special' offer".  Being on  the "do not call list" matters not if you are COX customer, they can call.  My solution.  Went to my Sprint account online and blocked the specific number.  Yes in addition to controlling who can text you, there is the ability to block specific phone numbers.  I tried, it works ...calls from COX solicitors are no more!!  If you have Sprint try it, another carrier, check if they will do the same.  It's very satisfying.

Today, I received a call from this number, identifying themselves as "Echo Alarm System." Spoke with Marco Lee, who identified his company's address as 2720 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX 75207. I did a little hunting and spoke to someone in that building who told me that the company is Alliance Security, telephone 214-298-6740. I spoke with a John at that number who confirmed that he knows that his company is telemarketing. I specifically asked that he not call any numbers on the federal Do Not Call list. John wanted to know how I got his number and I told him that I have my methods and they were none of his business.

Obviously, the 800 number is being used by a telemarketer that John has hired. John was very unhappy that someone had gotten his private number. If the caller is saying they're "Echo Alarm System" and they're offering you a free alarm, etc, they're from Alliance Security. And John has been warned that he is violating US federal law.
