I got a call from this number and the girl on the line said she was from the census bureau and wanted to verify my address.  I did not give it to her because it just felt "fishy" to me.  I don't know who it was in reality but I contacted the census bureau and am waiting to hear back.

I got the same call, and they wanted to verify the location of my house. As much as i don't normally like to do that, I felt that it was a legit call and seemed that with having a new neighborhood they were not sure of the collection block (not sure what that is).  I don't think it's a problem to provide that information to them. Even though I feel there may have been another way (can't think of one right now), it seems like just a helpful call to get the correct information.

I got a couple calls from this number, a lady mentioned that it was from the census, asked me my address, supposedly to confirm the information I submitted in the census form, I told her that I would confirm or correct the information she should have in the form, she said she didn't have it and wanted me to say my address, I told her I was not going to do it and she told me to call the same # to provide my info. I googled the phone number and it's not related or linked on any government page. Do not give out your info, if they want to confirm your address ask them to send you a person with the right forms and the proper identification to your house, just think about it, if you filled out the census form and you put the address and your phone number, why would they be trying to confirm that if they took your phone number from that form?????

Sounds fishy from others' comments.  Number showed as a missed call on my cell, no voice mail.  I would think if it were really the Census Bureau and they had a legit reason to contact you, they would leave a message.
