do not know the nature of this call

Got several calls from this number by a company called HP Locate.  They were looking for an extended family member.  Wouldn't answer my questions regarding why they were calling or needed to get in touch with this person.  But they were very insistent that I give them information.  I didn't even acknowledge that I knew the person they were looking for.

I have no idea who they are or why they are calling. since its a recorded message it does not tell why they need to talk to me.  is there a way to block these calls?  if someone really wants me to call back they should at least give a brief message as to why. it states my phone  number is correctly or incorrectly tied to an investigation they are doing.

didn't state why they were calling but said to called a different number they provided in the message (which was located in Canada). first call i got from them was a (718) number which is newyork
then 888 and another number which was Wisconsin.
so i know they are trying different numbers to get you to answer i guess but i won't

The company calling everyone is H.P. Locate, LLC. (a Skip Tracing company). Their address is 2200 Avenue K Ste 200, Plano, TX 75074-5970. Their office phone number is (469) 341-0107. The 888 number is used by their Jamaican call center. Although their business is legal, I know they are breaking the law on a daily basis. It is not legal to call someone on the DONOTCALL list unless you have a legitimate business relationship with them. They called me looking for someone who I don't know. They simply used a search engine to try and find anyone living in TX who had the same name as me. I called their office and spoke to the manager. I threatened to have my lawyer issue a restraining order against the owner? of the company, Mr. Christopher Ganter who is also the CEO. They then said they would never, ever, call me again. I suggest you all do the same and maybe they'll change how they do business. If they ever call me again, I will certainly attempt to have Christopher Ganter arrested.

ha wow. there is no such thing as a "DO NOT CALL LIST" do you think there is a master list out there that telemarketers and such check to see if your on? NO! every buisness has their own "do not call list" and as for what you say about trying to get someone arrested for calling you? GOOD LUCK.

Don't have a clue why 888-331-1438 called, the woman left a message saying call within 24 hours!

Have received calls from different people at this number 888-331-1438 asking about my ex wife who I haven't seen or heard from in over 20 years.
If I am the best lead they have then they are not very good at their job which apparently is locating people who don't want to be located.
Nonetheless, they continue to call even though I have told them I have no idea where she is.  I guess they don't believe me.

I have received numerous calls from this company asking for a Ryan Barns and they give me his address, which is on my street. I've told the folks I don't know Ryan or anyone named Barns. They continue to contact me! I finally found HP Locate on BBB.org where they have an "F" rating. I'm going to file a complaint with BBB just to help others researching about this bogus company. Their website http://www.hplocate.com gives no information, but at BBB.org you can find contact info and address.

received a recorded voicemail that claims our license plate #A1717*** was connected to a file in their office.  To correct this issue, you are instructed to "press 1".

that is not my license plate number, and I have no idea what they are talking about.

Have been receiving calls from this number. Claims plate number A171** is connected to a case of their's. Funny since I can't drive and don't own a car.

Received similar message on voicemail in a loop format stating that my phone number was linked to a case they are investigating, I was to press 1 to avoid further calls regarding their investigation. Pi license # A17-155. I have no business with these people, so I will not help them locate someone else. I presume in this failing economy somebody must owe money to their client. Well hells bells, find another way, then harassing me.

Jamaican calls have been hounding me for 3 years now.  They are relentless in scare tactics and promises of the lotto prizes won, bogus---all of them!

Got a call from 1-888-331-1438 asking about a former family member. Don't know what it was about. All they said was it was HP Locate.
