They say that i have to call them back about an amount due to Rogers. I don't even have Rogers.

I got a call on my Bell Mobility cell from this number saying that there was a problem with my Rogers account.

well i got the same call here too, voice recording asking me to pay my outstanding Rogers acct, cept theyre calling for some other person.

they called me again today, this time i waited on hold...AND...i actually talked to a rep, lol yes there is a REAL person on that other end!!

by then i was gettin frustrated(about 10 mins on hold)so i told them flatly stop calling my #, no one by the name is here. but she kept going on and on about, are you sure theyre not there?? you really dont know them?? lol  quite amusing

so i called Rogers and explained what was happening, they assured me they DO NOT know who this 888# is and that either someone is using my(our)cell# for fraudulant reasons(eg, made up a number on the spot)OR its a scam and theyre trying to get our personal info(credit cards for payment, etc)so to be on the safe side, either keep hanging up, block the #...or yell at them to vent your frustraion lol

These people started to call a few months ago.  How as of today and 3 more calls I need some ideas how to stop them.

I receive calls from this number regularly and now I just hang up since Rogers charges me for calls I receive and before I know it I need to top up my airtime.  Rogers should look into this before fingers are pointed at them.  These calls started as soon as I registered with them for pay as you go.

They keep calling me and leave msg to hold. They are wasting my airtime.   Maybe it is rogers calling just to spend our airtime ???

Same situation - an automated message left (thankfully on my home phone, so no cell airtime used up!) with a threatening message about them being "fully authorized to clear up this outstanding Rogers account" and a demand to call them immediately. I called Rogers, who confirmed that my account balance is zero (as I knew it would be, having just paid my monthly bill) and the woman in the billing/payment department had no idea who these people were or why they were calling me but made note of the number and advised her supervisor.

I called the # back and it was answered by "Contact Resource Services" - I was on hold forever to speak to someone (I wanted to speak to them and tell them that I've confirmed they're fraudulent) but gave up - my time is just more valuable than that!

I got the same message on my house number. Called them back, and got to speak with a representative within minutes of calling. I told them that I'm very confused since I always make my payments in time, she asked me my name. I told her - turns out they have different name associated with my land line. Lady asked one more time if somebody with name in question lives with us. I said no, she thanked me kindly and advised that she'll make a note in this persons file.

IM GETTING PHONE CALLS ABOUT A ROGERS ACCOUNT I DONT HAVE AND SAY I OWE 1500 DOLLARS THIS IS DISTURBING TO ME THAT I OWED BUT I DONT HAVE A ROGERS  ACCOUNT 27/11/12

I also have been getting these calls for Rogers that it is urgent I call back.

I got the same call too. Most likely a scam which uses high pressure tactic to hope someone will fall for and pay for these "bills".
