harrassing my sick mother after multiple request of not to call. uggh

A female person with a very nasal voice called and asked for my husband by name and said she was calling about his "Federal educational file" and that he should call back 888-337-7671, ext. 2757. (Afterwards, I checked my phone by pressing *69 to get the phone number of the last caller, and it came up differently:  888-337-9835.)  When I said my husband wasn't available and asked what this was about, she asked whether I was his wife, and being told so, she said the person they were looking for had the same name as my husband and was born on some date or other (not my husband's birth date).  So stupidly, out of relief that they weren't looking for him, I immediately replied, "No, my husband was born on" and gave the date of his birth, which I immediately realized I should not have done.  Now they have his name, phone number, possibly address (from the phone listing), and date of birth, so of course I am hoping this is not an identity-theft thing.
