Report a phone call from 888-453-1922 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- ArkieThe text message comes in informing you that you are nearing your Verizon Minute, Data, or Msg usage limit. Call for more info.
It's not from Verizon! Do not call them! - SHReceived a text message telling me that I was on track to incur charges for minutes, data, or message usage. Call 888-453-1922. Since I don't trust random messages I googled the number and found that it is NOT Verizon Wireless which is exactly what I thought.
- mGot the same message... Call the number, and being naturally suspicious, it didnt sound correct. The one in the recorded voice was not the same as any other verizon wireless phone number... hung up and called the 611 cust serv number. I know my plan has unlimited everything, so I told them about it. They said they had no idea, but that my plan and phone were fine, and to disregard he message. So I googled the number and ended up here. Everyone should call the 611 cust serv number and make sure verizon knows about this.
- JHAlso got the same message and knowing my phone plan I was skeptical. I googled the number and ended up here. Not from Verizon. Do not call them.
- GraysonAnother great way to fight back and hopefully STOP the people doing this:
http://welcome.bbb.org/
Enter your zipcode, then file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
Hopefully they'll get enough complaints to take care of whoever is sending the texts. - Me too. It's a scam to gather account info and hack your personal info. Report to Verizon immediately.
- MLThis is a contractor for Verizon. It is not a hacker or scammer. I dialed 611 to verify and they DO send these messages when customers are about to be charges for voice, data, text, etc. Verizon just has contractors they have hired to address these needs. If you are sceptical, call 611 from your handset and talk to Verizon directly. Give the the situation and the phone number and they will be happy to help explain it to you. AND...if you do not want to receive these text messages, ask them to put on a "do not solicit" feature on your account so you will not get these messages anymore.
- Caller: Verizon
- EstebanThis in NOT, I repeat NOT a contractor for Verizon. Yes it is a HACKER and a SCAMMER!. Yes, call 611 and they will tell you that this text message is NOT from a contractor.
- Mindi ArvizuThey keep calling me. I did receive a text saying that I have nearly reached my limit of data??? I pay my bill. It is bogus.
- Verizon CustomerYesterday I got a text from Verizon (900070004603) about nearing my minutes limit. I still have a ways to go, so I called them (at the number on their Web site, NOT the toll-free # listed in the text) and verified that the text message is actually legitimate, as is the toll-free # listed in the text message. Then today I got this phone call (no message, just caller ID number 888-453-1922), and when I Googled, lots of folks are saying it is a Verizon minutes-alert call. (Although I still have 200 minutes to go in this billing cycle!)
The rep said that they are starting to send out these messages based on how you are TRENDING in your call patterns, to warn you that if you continue your current pattern, you will go over.- Caller: Verizon
- chey, I got the same text and then they called me the next day.
I suspect this is a scam related to facebook--either the "compare friends" or "circle of trust" app. Does anybody/everybody else with this problem have their phone # listed on their facebook account and has messed around with either of these apps? - TomDI just got the same call, that I was nearing my Verizon limits. Same 888-453-1922 phone number. I almost thought it might be true since I recently came back from a long vacation (with cell phone).
Tom - Another Verizon CustomerGot the same message - "UR close to going over your limit....." Came in as a text message and referred me to this 1-888-453-1922 number. I have not called it, but called 611 and they told me it was bogus. Added number to do not call list.
- dlbHave gotten 4 calls in past 24 hours from 888-453-1922. Just called 611 (Verizon Cust Svc), the Verizon rep, Dorothy, called the # for me and said it's their courtesy department calling about megabite charges for my ringtone and game downloads. NOT A SCAM!!
- AnnoyedHad the same number call me yesterday, automated "courtesy" call stating that due to my cell phone usage, I was close to incurring additional charges and "to press one to speak to a customer service representative." Followed the instructions, got some rude, nasty, condescending [***] who would NOT tell me what initiated the call because she wanted a password. She even accused me of hacking my own phone and trying to scam her. Called *611, that "customer service" representative (Grace) told me that yes indeed it was an automated call, and she wanted the same password before she'd even help me. Keep in mind that VERIZON itself initiated the call, and then refused to tell me why. Their service sucks, no doubt about it. Most of their "customer service" people are rude and flat out obnoxious. Wish I didn't have one of those "family plan" things so I could find a better carrier.
- CathyI received an actual phone call from the 888-453-1922 #,not a text, so I Googled it and ended up here. Reading down I've gotten a lot of mixed messages. If you're suspicious about the # (whether it came in text form or an actual call) do NOT call it. Most 888 are solicitors for the most part and will eat up your minutes. You know your plan, the amount of minutes you have for texting and calling (local and long distance) and should have some idea of how many minutes you have left on your phone. Oh, and stop and think about how long you've been with Verizon, do they call or text every month to inform you of how many minutes you have left? I just recently signed up with Verizon wireless (about 10 months) and this is the FISRT time I've gotten a call like this. Go with your instinct, if it doesn't feel right, it's probably not.
- LMSSame for me. Text message one day and then three phone calls the next (I did not answer the next day). I called Verizon Wireless directly. The customer service rep I talked to had no idea what I was talking about and agreed that, yes, this sounds very suspicious and that Verizon would not send abbreviated messages (UR for you're, 2 for to...) in that manner. So, she put me through to a tech support person. The tech person wasn't so sure it was a scammer. She called 888-453-1922 for me, kept me on the line on hold while she did that. The greeting, etc. all sounded legit, she did not talk to a live person at that number. SO... Verizon neither denied or confirmed that this number and contact is legit. Like the person above said, go with your instinct, if it doesn't feel right, it's probably not.
- BillI did not recieve a text, but I did miss a call from this number, I checked my voicemail but they did not leave a message, and I searched the number to find out who it is, I went to another site before this and agreed that, the fact that they did not leave a message meant it probably wasn't verizon, now I looked here and would like to have verizon find out who this is and have them arrested.
- KELLYWAS CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES IN ONE DAY BY THIS NUMBER.
- DavidI got this exact message today, called 888 453-1922 and got helpful Verizon people who adjusted my account. Then I found this web page. I called *611 and the Verizon operative confirmed it was genuine. Of course, you don't know who *I* am, do you, so you'll probably want to look up Verizon's number for yourself anyway.
