Someone called at my mothers house from this number. My Mother answered it and they claimed to be looking for me "in connection with an ongoing investigation", yet gave no other information.

did you ever find out who they were ? tyhey just called me also and i dont know why?

Called and left a message saying they contacted my compan yand payroll department and i would soon be garnished. Said i would be served soon and he was from my countys processor department and if i did not want to be served at work to call

Has scam written all over it. just ignore and or file a complaint with the ftc , Take these criminals down who steal are information

File a complaint with your attorney general and the NEW York Sate attorney general.

This is a scam , not legit and id theft.

Get as much information about them and do not cave in with there scare tactics. they are not anyone who can serve or sue you etc.

Is this a scam?. I called and spoke to someone. They not only have called but also mailed me letters. She said they were litigators between credit collectors and court. The debt she mentioned was a real debt...had dates that the card was active. I offered no information at all.The guy leaving the message is their "scare tactic". She said while they do go to the place of employment, they only leave a letter with the HR dept..not call you out &embarrasss you. I told her I would call back.

My son in Illinois called me and gave me this number 8884664383 and told my son they said they were going to summins me to court and have me arrested.
I callled the number and some female said she had to turn me over to her supervisor. A lady came on saying I owed $700.00 to a payday loan. I asked who this payday loan was and she said all you need to know is you owe the $700.00.
I hung up and waited for a few then called back. They still refused to tell me who or any information at all. I told the lady in accordance with the FTC you must provide me with proof that the debt belongs to me. The lady then said she would mail it to my address, and I gave her my mothers address in Illinois.
