SWFT Financial is an abusive collections agency mainly used by gyms to collect debts on their (sometimes fraudulent) claims. I've seen reviews from hundreds of individuals who have filed complaints with the Fair Trade Commission and Better Business Bureau regarding this company. Mainly the problem seems to be the abusive amount of calls, the abusive methods of the customer "service" reps, and the fact that even after posting payment, they continue to claim you haven't paid yet.

The gyms I've read that use this company are Gold's Gym and Retro Fitness although there are a couple more that I can't recall their names. My guess is that a chair member on the board of these gyms started this company in order to reap more profits using bully tactics and outright fraud.

I hate how this number keeps calling me!  It is so annoying how can I make it stop !?!

They told me to fax my "do not call" request. I did. They still called. They claim they never received my fax despite the fact that I have a receipt showing that it went through. If you call and tell them you want them to stop calling they say they'll connect you with a supervisor and then hang up on you.

I thought consumers were protected from such abusive practices? These people get away with it repeatedly.

I got 2 calls from this group with an actual area code. One was a 619, California area code, the other 403, New Hampshire area code and a New York area code; same message, 2 different guys and a lady, sweet as can be stating that they are concerned that I have a seriously over debt to be paid or its going to collections. Googling the numbers, i saw that they are debt collectors for Golds gym, I ignored them. The last time I was a member of Golds gym was in 1979-1981 and was a month to month, non contract member. I left LA and the state of California in 1989. While there is a Golds in my town, which I refuse to mention due to their harassment tactics, I have never been a member and the gym I did belong to this past year, I. terminated from for medical reasons and have a SIGNED WITNESSED TERMINATION document from that facility, their own company form stating that I was paid up and didn't owe any money to them.. So that being the case, I have no idea what they are looking for and i am not about to answer or return the call to find out what they are talking about. Since I haven't responded to the 3 live voices, I'm now getting automated calls from various 888 numbers that all say the same thing and when googled, all come back to this company 4/5 times a day or more,, usually 5-6 minutes a part. I'm adding all their numbers to my reject list and keeping track of the times and frequency of them all. If any one starts a class action suit against them, I'm ready to join in.

I wonder if swift financial the debt collectors loop hole is that if we call them back they can use any tactic they want and use it as defense in case anything occurs in the court of law. I believe thats why they use an automated message telling you that its something important and that you should contact back that number ASAP. Like that if you call they can do as they please for they are receiving the call not viseversa.

I keep getting calls from this # for my brother i have told my brother about that an the first thing they did when he called was ask for a credit card # to pay the debt to a gym that he has never been too. the guy that i spoke with was very rude and when i asked for his supervisor he said that he wasnt avaliable i said isnt that covenient.

This has been going on for all most a year and I can't block it because they made it so it goes right to mailbox. They call at least four times a week.

I told the caller to remove my telephone number from the system because I do not have any accounts with them.  I cannot believe that when I told the caller they had the wrong number and the person they were looking for no longer lived here and in fact was currently serving in Afghanistan he proceeded to laugh and said what is he doing there.  I am appalled at this behavior and told this collector that if he wants to reach the person he is looking for to contact the United States Army and hung up.  I will also be reporting this to my state attorney general as today I finally answered because these calls are too numerous and harassing!!

Three calls from them in two days, each from different area codes.
They all speak in a very aggressive manner about a debt that needs to be paid "today" to avoid legal action.

Called several times on my office phone from New Hampshire number and from 888 number.  Aggressive male on voicemail, uses scare tactics, but never really gives specific reference as to what debt he is calling about.

They called left an automated message but the number on the caller ID had two 1's in front of it  I sent a letter to them from my doctor stating I could continue going to the gym because of lunes disease and they keep calling

I just got a call from this number.. they are rude and aggressive. Claiming I owe money to The Edge gym when my membership ended two years ago.  The supervisor is TROY GREENE and he hangs up on you, won't let you speak.  So I keep calling back and they hang up or out it on hold. I just put in a complaint to the FTC and BBB.  WE should all keep calling and harassing them.. 888-479-4384
