I received a call from this number this morning for my husband.  It is for Metropolitan Credit.

call them and get your credit issue resolved.

Your credit is already messed up if it goes into collections. Your R rating becomes an R9. The way to deal with these collectors is to report them online or in a letter to the Ministry of Consumer affairs. Tell the collector this if they continue to call you. Back up what you say and file a complaint with the Ministry. Don't worry no one will come after you for complaining. Three complaints and the collector loses their license to collect delinquent accounts. Also make note to have your number removed from their dialer system because thats the machine that keeps calling you. Thats how you deal with these people.

These so call collection agencies may have a superficial legal business but they also act as PHISHING your personal info with the only purpose to steal your identity. I called them back and they had bits and pieces of public info about me, some correct and a few that was wrong (there's more that one person with the same name in the same province), they tried to confirm it was correct insisting they needed to be sure they had the right person over the phone before telling me who they are and why they are calling me! Yeah, right!! If truly a collection agency they wouldn't have a problem telling me who they are and what it is all about!!!!! I have PERFECT CREDIT and no due debts. Note that the number they dialed is my summer house located in Ontario, Canada and only gave it to the present utility companies, all my business and personal bank and credit cards have my primary home address in the USA!!!!!

Beware, do not give your info. Tell them that they have the wrong number, do not say yes to any of the confirmation questions such as: "is your date of birth 1968? Even if it's right, say NO and be firm about telling them that if they keep on calling you, that you will fill a complaint with the local police and the RCMP for harassment.

Anyone on these boards telling you that it's in your best interests to call them back otherwise you will be reported to the credit bureau are working for these companies. If they where legit then it would already be reported to the credit bureau, then you can deal with it directly with those bureaus (i.e. equifax)

This fake Company is still looking for money from any-one, that it can get it from!
Never give out any of your info, to any iffy/fake Company/Companies!

I just got a call this afternoon from this number. 888-488-1051. I have no idea who they are, or what they want. I seem to get a lot of these calls for no apparent reason on my part. I would like to know who it is, and why they feel they can just call whatever number they like? I am a Canadian citizen and resident all my life. Who ever you are please stop calling. Upon doing a little research and reading, I have come to learn that it is a Credit Collection Agency out of Texas. Nice try, maybe you should stick to the USA next time!!!

1 888 488 1051 claim to be Metcalf for Bell Canada.  Bell Canada claims no knowledge wish they could help.
Metcalf also calls themselves Bell Canada adjustments, Bell Canada Expedited payments. They frequently call from a restricted number but leave an electronic message giving their number. or just sit with the line open saying nothing.
