- JM| 2 repliesI have dealt with these scam artists for the last several weeks. Same old story as everyone else. What I have is the solution to end this and some facts you need to know and what you should do:
-This is a clear and dry directory listing scam. Ignore their demands. All of them.
-Try and get them to email you an invoice to a spam email account you use to review. Once it is received, confirm the address on the invoice.
As of right now, they are operating out of:
200 South Virginia Street 8th Floor, PMB-42
Reno, NV 89501
PLEASE BE AWARE, they do not physically call you from this location. (Calls come from 775, which is a vegas area code). This is in fact a virtual office location. If you see a "PMB" or other initials that don't indicate a suite or another physical address, they are operating out of a virtual office just like this one.
Now here is the facts:
The virtual office is run by a company named "Regus" www.regus.com. They are a company that runs virtual offices around the country.
Link is here: http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=6375581 ... 86&spn=0,0&z=16
Regus do in fact have the REAL CONTACT INFORMATION for the owner of this company and not the bogus one they send you. It is possible to get this information through a subpoena if you choose to take this further. (and I would love to see someone do it and I will support them.)
Here is what you can do in the meantime:
1. Call Regus' Reno location directly: (775) 686-2400. Ask to speak with the Center Manager, (Her name is Wendy, but just ask for the manager and confirm later that it is her you are speaking to.)
-Confirm that Yellow Local Directory is in fact one of their clients.
-Tell them that you have been receiving harassing calls from this client for money and that they are trying to scam you and your company.
-Tell the manager to contact their client and tell them to STOP CALLING YOU IMMEDIATELY OR YOU WILL SEEK LEGAL ACTION.
-Tell the manager you will contact the Regus corporate as well.
2. Call Regus' Corporate Legal Office in Texas. (972) 361-8100 x7. This number connects you with Michelle Hargus, head of Regus' Legal department. If she does not answer, leave a message stating you want to report a client of theirs and leave a call number back. Keep leaving message if she does not return your call.
3. Report the scammers to the FTC, local law enforcement, BBB, and get on the do not call list registry. This helps with pushing the government to get involved, and to stop further scammers from contacting you in the future.
4. If the scammers call back, tell them you have done all of the following above and you won't get a single dime from you so stop trying AND STOP CALLING!
I hope this helps some of you out. It seems to be the most productive way at this time.
I HOPE THE SCAMMERS ARE READING THIS NOW. YOU WILL NOT WIN. WE WILL FIND YOU AND JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!!!
SUCK ON THAT.

- Judy replies to JMThank you JM for all the advice and info you have given. I have printed it off and will go through all the steps.
I have been harrased by them now for a week. I did not ok this transaction, they got a person in my office to answer enough questions to make it sound like she could order this. They are mean and intimidating - no real company would act this way.
They faxed me a bill that showed I owed the $499.99 plus the $40 administration fee plus interest charges.
This is a scam!!! Do not give them information, do not fall for their crap. - DPPI replies to JMThanks for the info JM. we just got hassled this afternoon from the same exact scam. It's extremely frustrating.

- Caller: YELLOW SCAM DIRECTORY
- em replies to JMYellow Local Directory tried the same scam at our office. They had a recording of my secretary saying yes to receiving an invoice. She remembered the call, because she had felt badgered and asked the same questions over and over again. She does not remember being "recorded"- which did sound on the recording to be at a different volume than the conversation.
When looking on the website, they had 7 clinics in my town listed, 4 of which had been closed for years. According to the BBB in Reno, NV, Yellow Local Directory was established in 2006. Some of these clinics closed prior to 2006. When I asked "Mark Jordan" of Yellow Local Directory if all of the people on the website were paying customers, he said that they were. I asked them how they could be if they had closed their businesses prior to Yellow Local Directory starting theirs. His response was that he was just in collections and did not deal with that part of the company.
According to a news report I read someone from the FTCstated that they are not a legitimate company and do not have reporting capabilities with the credit reporting bureaus. Do not pay them a penny. Let them know that you know they are fraudulent. Contact the ftc, royal canadian mounted police, your state attorney general, and let other businesses in your area via newspaper articles and chamber of commerces know of what a scam they are. I wish we had heard about them prior to January! - mcelectricI just got a phone call from these people. The first guy was Ronnie David and I was pretty mad when he told me that I had this outstanding invoice for something I didn't authorize. He got very rude with me and I hung up the phone, he called back right away and was even more of an ass to me. Finally I said fine, give me the cancellation number. He transferred me to Tiffany in "quality control" and she asked me yes and no questions. "Is it ok to record this conversation for future training, do you confirm the cancellation, there is a final invoice that we will be sending out for $499.00." I never set any of this up in 2009 that I can remember. I for sure would not have agreed to ever pay anyone $499.00 for what is a free listing in the yellow pages!

- Dia2585 State Route 11 #1-108, Mooers, NY 12958 is the listing for yellow local directory. No such address. It is a vacant lot next to a cemetary in a little town near the Canadian border.
1940 Duke Street Suite 200 #100 is Regus, a virtual office. Regus is aware of the scam. CCRecovery.biz's URL is registered for only ONE year. Any reputable company would go for much longer.
Note: Oral or verbal agreements are only good for less than $500. INTERESTING that the amount is ONE CENT less!!!!- Caller: Yellow Local Directory
