Said they were with the local county court about a debt that they have not been bale to serve papers on.

I got the same call, who are these people?

The company is National Capital Management. Not sure but think they are a debt collection agency. I have gotten the same calls. They have even called several of my relatives trying to contact me so that they can process some kind of papers through a sheriff dept. I have blocked my # when I called them to see what it was about but all I get is a voicemail saying leave your name and number. All I can say to them is I will not leave them this information just so they can harrass me.

I cant believe these [***]. I was served today at work.. I'm So Embarassed.. I don't know what to do? My boss just called me letting me know they are about to garnish my wages.

i got a call from the county processing department. They gave  me this same number, but I never called back. About a week later the process server arrived at my house with a sum-100 Summons to appear in court. I had no idea what this was so I googled it, and I came across something that says it is a lawsuit or something....probably some stupid credit card. So, finally I called the number that was given to me, and I was able to avoid the lawsuit that was on the papers delivered to my house. I just had to pay for the card that I bought my car stereo with. =)

Do not listen to these people!! It is a scam!! They will threaten you with lawsuits, garnishment of wages, etc...They are scammers!! Check out the statute of limitations in your state, most states have a statute of limitations on credit card debt, in NC it is 3 years!! They tried to collect a debt from me that is past the SOL!! They have threatened to send out the sheriff, they have impersonated sheriff officers, don't give them any information and do not validate or admit to the debt, it can start the SOL over again!! Take down their number and call your Atty General!! Also, Diedre, Mary and other people who claimed they were served works for the company..Protect yourself!

i think they r a scam calling my family members trying to locate me. i dont know who thry are.i ve heard of this before.  and kind of worried. but not really..any help on this matter please say they are capital management

Don't be worried. It's a scam. They buy up old debts, even ones that have been paid off, trying to get you to pay up. I kept them going long enough to know they're not legit. I called them on their BS lawsuit. They threatened me with a lawsuit back in August and here we are in October and I have yet to receive one legitimate letter in the mail. The only letter I received was a fax with intructions on where to send a payment. Upon investigating the address in turned out to be a private PO type box at a UPS store in Corona CA. If they dont give you a direct mailing address that is a clear sign they are full of sh**. Don't do anything except tell them you will not pay anything and if they want to pursue the lawsuit go right ahead. Trust me they will not do anything. I called their bluff and their so called associate Tim Washington became very agitated and began calling me a dead beat who doesnt pay his bills. Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act he violated a statute of name calling, he also refused to stop calling when I asked him not to. They are required through this act to not call you at home or at work if you ask them not to especially if they are a 3rd party debt collector which they clearly are. The most obvious part is if you google their name National Capital Management, they fail to exist in Corona where they say they're located. BOGUS!!! Don't pay them a dime, please!!!!
