- JEA_PortlandMay 23, 2011 9:20 AM - recorded msg about a home loan modification. Complaint filed.
- Caller: Loan Modification
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Amy in MNI just received a call from this number as well...I could hardly make out what she was saying, the automated message went so fast, then my dog arfed and the message cut off and it hung up on me. I am in the process of a modification so I didn't know if it was my bank (WF) or not, but I doubt it. Would like to get their company name to report them to my attorney general to look into.

- Loan Modification ScamI got the same message as JEA and looked into this. They are a document preparation company named "HelpYouSave" posing as loan modification specialists promising unrealistic results with a loan modification. They charge you a fee "based on your morgage payment" - half of which is required before they start paperwork. (My fee was $1000) They offer the advice to skip your next mortgage payment and pay them instead. These are signs of a scam! You should not be paying for a loan modification, your lender will work with you for free - or you can contact a non-profit credit counseling agency who will help you prepare these documents for FREE. Don't borrow trouble!

- guardog82I got the same message also as JEA. Pre recorded, talking about home loan modifcation. I hung up shortly after listing to message.

- s macReceived a garbled, recorded message from this number. Called to find out who they are and how to get off their list. Spoke with a person who lied about the call and then slammed down the reciever.
Con artists.- Caller: Help You Save
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SandyM23Left a partial voice mail stating that I contacted them about a loan modification. Entirely not true! Deceptive practice. Not even considering such a thing so no doubt this call is bogus.

- CB in TampaI too am in the middle of a refinance with my bank so thought it might be them so I called the number back left by a woman named Amy who said she was returning my inquiry about a loan remodification (a lie). Got a prerecorded message about refinancing with a government program if I am behind in or owe too much on my mortgage. Obviously not my bank so I hung up.

- CJJust received a call from this number. It's about a loan modification for a mortgage that I don't have. Mortgage was paid off at least 10 years ago.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- NorkReceived call from "Amy" regarding my alleged contact with them about loan modification. I never called them. This is the second time I have received a call from this individual. I called back and left a message to remove me from all lists, and that they are in violation of the National DNC Registry. A lot of good that does!
- Caller: "TOLL FREE CALL"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- EricJust as with Nork, "Amy" is busy. She just called and speed-babbled her loan modification blather into my answering machine.
Apparently whoever they are, they must think the DNC part of the Registry means you "Do Not Care" if telemarketers and scam artist companies call.
At least I found I have a call blocking feature available on my phone line, and can stop recalls from any last number that called (even though AT&T doesn't support entering toll free numbers manually into the feature). Unfortunately AT&T only supports blocking up to 6 numbers, and my list's almost full so soon after discovering it.
So, folks, try *60 for call blocking (at least that's how to access it with AT&T phone service). #01# then blocks the last number that called. If star 60 doesn't get you into it, call your local carrier to see if / how to access call block service.
And be sure to turn it on (it's off by default, even if you've entered numbers into the list).- Caller: TOLL FREE CALL

- ftlguyreceived a call from this number at 7:21PM this evening with a female automated voice (AMY) stating I contacted them about my loan modification (I DIDN'T) so to press "1" to speak to her but of course I didn't press one and wasn't given the option to be removed from their calling list which annoys me as I am on the Do Not Call Registry (which isn't working obviously)
