Received a phone call from this number, the called stated, "I need to speak with the person who handles your Michigan Gas."
When I said, "You need what?"
He replied, "I need to speak with the person who handles your Michigan Gas."
I replied, "I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean."
He replied, "What, you mean you don't have gas?"
I replied, "Actually, we have propane."
He hung up the telephone.

Phone number is registered to Lakeshore Energy.  Obviously, they are not inclined to follow FCC Guidelines, requiring a solicitor to identify WHO they are and WHAT company they represent, but when you go to their website https://www.lakeshoreenergy.com/, none of the links EXCEPT my account and the home page go anywhere... VERY CONCERNING.  Make certain that you do your homework BEFORE doing business with this company.  They are NOT a member (as of 07/07/10) with the BBB and the State of Michigan has the following information regarding them:

I got a call from you, too.  Very disturbing.  I live in New Mexico.  Why is a natural gas company from Michigan calling me?  What is your agenda?

I get voice mails containing only the phone number and "Thank you, talk to you soon." which is why I looked up the number. Why no message? Is it automated and starts as soon as my voice mail picks up, so this is the only part that's recorded?

I got a call from them too.  When I called them back they said you are a southeastern michigan gas customer right and I said NO and I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST.  It ticks me off when companies just call and don't look at that list.  He said oh well one or two occassionally slip through, yea right. I told him if I receive another call I will be reporting him!  Anyone that does business like this shouldn't be trusted as far as I am concerned

Getting calls from this number on a weekly basis.   Would like to report them to the State they said they were a local utility company.  We rent and all our utilities are included in the rent.

I received a call from this number this morning.  They refused to identify the company name.  The guy who called said -

"Hi, may I speak to whoever handles the West Penn Power bill."

- I replied, "That would be me."

- He starts rambling about some rebate and then demands that I get my electric bill.  Then he tells me he will wait while I get it.

- This clown never ASKS me anything, yet demands and then cops an attitude.

- I called the number back and asked the lady who answered the name of the company.  She refused and then yelled to someone.  A guy gets on and HE refused to tell me who the company was.  Then he tells me that I called them from an outside line so they don't have my information in front of them.  WHY WOULD THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHO CALLED ME!?

If that wasn't bad enough this guy starts giving me the same lines about a refund!

I am seeking action from the PUC and any other authorties regarding this matter.

Just had a phone call from 888-651-3380.  "I want to speak with the person in charge of your electric bill".  Having received these calls daily on every single phone line we have in this office (8), I just hung up because I had customers in my office and one on hold.

This foul women called back demanding my supervisor.  So I hung up again.  She called back two more times.  This time, I let them ring.

How can I report this company?  I have told them time and time again to remove us from their list, and they disregard that demand.

This guy was rude.  Kept telling him I wasn't interested and to quit calling.  (Someone called two days ago also).   I told him my husband already talked to someone (that usually works), but he kept asking me when and who....he tried to intimidate me.  So I eventually hung up on him.
Pretty much the same thing that "Joe" above went through.  
If it sounds too good to be true, then it is!  Plus, who gives their information over the phone these days!  
I'd rather pay a dollar more for my utilities than to have to deal with these people.
Glad my intuition was right when he called, I dont' trust anyone who I don't know calls me whether they know my name or not!

I noted this 888-651-3380 number when I received two calls from them this morning, asking me to call back with my UGI gas bill in hand to their rep at 800-210-9011, ext 1637.  

She was quite rude, insisting that we are paying too high of a rate, that they are a government endorsed supplier that helps lower rates, and issues rebates.  I told her we already have a supplier so I wasn't understanding why she was calling.  She pretty much became a [***] to me, telling me that she would not speak to me and wanted to speak with someone who understood and would give her the information she needed from the bill.  I said again that was me, and then she told me that I could then explain it to my boss why we are paying more for our gas bills than we should be.  

Seriously!?  I am so tired of these companies trying to pull one over me, and then getting snotty when I question them.  Ridiculous!
