Got a call from 888-653-2382 asking for such and such..I inform them that there is noone here by that name..they proceed to tell me that my telephone number was given to them as a contact..that we ARE RELATIVES!!...ummmm, NOPE!!..NEVER even heard of the person who is my so called "relative"...said it was Capital Mangagement...kind of like a letter I rec'd from another debt collector for someone with my name , different middle name, different ss#, but came to my address...got harassed for 2 years for accounts I  DO NOT have...threatened to have my lawyer deal with them if they didn't stop...they stopped...this is FRUSTRATING!!

It is scam for I received the call from this numbers. The guy tried to convince me that I owed some money back to 2006 to Airline Company.  I asked him to mail the proof but he failed to do so. I told him if he calls me for no evidence proving his accusation, I record the conversation and will sue for harassment. Then the call stops!

I keep getting calls from this number wanting a person who hasn't lived in this town for the past 10 yr.
They call at 8 AM, 12 noon, 6 PM, and have even called at 9 PM.  I am on the national nocall list as well as my state's no call list.  Does that matter?? NOOOO

I get several calls a day from this number. I don't answer 800 numbers as they are usually political or sales.

We contacted our cell provider and they say they have no clue who this person is, and is not a prior owner of this number.   This person also seems to be giving out this number to all her bill collectors.

Got a call from this number at 8:30AM on a Saturday on my home number and then 30 seconds later on my cell number.  I answered my cell and they asked for Jose Satino.  When I told them that wasn't me they said well "who is this".  I replied well I'm not Jose Satino.  She said oh well then I'll remove this number.  I asked who she was and she didn't answer (though I could hear her typing).  After asking several times she hung up.

I called the number back and it was Capital Management.  The man who answered said he would remove both numbers.

They keep calling my tracfone (prepaid fone, not assigned to ANY name or person) so I know it's some kind of scam or sales.  I won't answer of course since every minute costs me money but their number stll shows up in my caller I.D.  I just went to the reverse phone directory to see who it belongs to and it says "Oops, the number you have entered is not a valid number".  I checked and I had typed it correctly so it's a scam.   Report them to the naional do not call registry if you're on the list, and if you're not, get on the list so you can file complaints when these people bother you (but you have to be  on the list for 31 days before you can file a complaint).  You can also register your cell phones on that site.

O.K. everybody here's the skinny on the problem.  Doing a little web surfing since my last post and here's what I found on google:  Fake your phone caller ID.  The website  (tho I didn't go to it) is www.itellas.com.   Soooooo I wonder if the FCC can put a halt to that site, altho some damage has already been done in the fact that some scammers already have learned from them how to do it. If anyone knows what we can do about  this, which I think should be illegal, if it's not already, please enlighten the rest of us so we can do something about it. We need to start fighting back!

I have been calling them 15 to 20 times everyday and saying obscene things, basically harassing them just like they did to me.  I told them many times they had the wrong person and they don't care, they will continue to call.  I also send nasty messages through the Contact Us form on their website.  

My advice is do what I do and start harassing them back.

I had the SAME thing happen...I was called a liar because I said I wasn't the person that they were looking for.  Anyway we can stop this craziness?

I just now had the same thing happen to ne. Called and said my # was a contact number for the person and she wouldn't tell me who was calling.

Received a call at work today looking for a "Melanie*" (Withholding LN for persons privacy). "Melanie" was a previous employee many many mannnnyyy. I placed the lady on hold for a minute or two and then told her that she no longer worked here. She said thanks, that the call was being monitored, and that she would take our number off our list.

Called me on my direct line at work. Said her name was Kim B., but never said where she was from, just that the the call was beig monitered for quality assurance. I took the return number she gave me, 888-653-2382, but this was not the number she called from. The number she called from started with 866.
