Collections Bureau. When you call it, it goes straight to voice. I'm not sure who it's associated with, but it's either Bay Area Credit Services or some kind of Parking Bureau.

I would have little reason to be called by the Parking Bureau unless there's something I don't know about. I'm pretty sure it's a Bay Area services extension.

I called and a woman answered "collection bureau of america".  I told her I missed a call from them and she said please hold.  I held for over a minute and then a man answered.  It is a legitimate collection bureau as far as I can tell.

i recieve a call saying that they are collecting something and i dont have any idea for what?  because im not a business woman and i dont even have a job right now how did they say that they are collecting some money from me and for what?

I get calls from this place all the time... The voice mail says my name but my middle name is not correct.

The voicemail also says to call 888-454-4011

I am not calling them back since I never have received a bill from them.

These [***] call morning noon and night. As early as 8am and as late as 9 pm at night. I tell them to stop calling and they still call.

They called me and used my middle and last name.  No one from and agency of any kind has ever used my middle name.  I go by my middle name with my friends and online stuff, but any sort of paychecks, personal checks, credit cards, or anything "official" i use my first name.

In these days you cant be too cautious about who is trying to collect money from you.

I will never give any money to anyone who calls me by my middle name.

They called me every day for the last looong time.  After picking up a couple of times and having a recording greet me with "to speak with a representative, press 1" (after which i would hang up) I stopped answering their call.  The voicemail was commonly the same recording that I would hear if I answered, though today the recording left a message saying it was the "collection bureau of america" and that i should call back 888-454-4011.  They used my maiden name and I KNOW that I don't owe any money anywhere besides loans that I am current on.

I've spoken with then repeatedly about having the wrong number and have been told my number would be removed, and still they call.  At this point it's harassment.  I'll be looking into who to report them to.

They keep calling me every day too, but I've never answered. I just wonder how did they get my number, because I haven't given my number to allmost anyone. I'm here in the USA for only 6 months, so I have a prepaid sim card. So I think someone has had the same number before, and that's why they might keep calling me. I get so many marketing calls every single day, that it's making me angry. I wonder if there's any way to stop these marketing calls...?

I happened to get a Time Warner bill was sent to collections. When I turned in my equipment the customer service rep said they would send my final bill to my new address..fail.
Anyway, got a collection notice forwarded to me. Paid it through Time Warner right away and called the TW collection agency to let them know.
Time Warner only uses ONE collection agency. They DONT use Collection Bureau of America. I don't know how they got my info. Neither does Time Warner. TW rep actually was shocked that this agency got my info. A little disturbing!!!!!

My bill was for $70 and this 'collection bureau' said I needed to pay them $90!! LOL um...no

Thanks for the advice guys. I figure If they want my money they will have a live rep contact me.  I know I do owe money but its medical bills, that will be covered under dissability insurance and Im not going to be called a loser by a stranger due to any bills over do.  I am disabled and I try I would send as much as I can but they are mean.  They call names, now I dont know about this one it may be nicer people but, um No!!! so you all think they are a scam, see I think they say I owe like 300 more than  a bill I owed, like they are charging me 300 to collect 300???? I will pay the institution I owe.  Now there is a collection agency out of florida that is amazing they will take 2 dollars a month and be happy with it.  Like verizon they kept raising our bill after we terminated the service, I wont pay anymore than I owe.  I surely wont pay people to call me names and be unkind.

I told them "He no live here" but they keep calling.  They are collecting for either (a) Wells Fargo (b) capital one (c) JP Chase (4) IRS (5) Premier Bank Card (6) Lawsuit (7) Municipal Parking Tickets (8) Court Fines or someone else I owe.

LOL... shoot, I owe a lot of the same people, I think... But I am making payments to all, so I don't know who this random company is.. Take a number

just get a different number, then call your friends with the new number

Deb,  Getting a different number could be bad. About 5 years ago I changed number and got one that a drug dealer had before me. Wow! Talk about phone calls. I wont do that again.

I've been getting calls from this number for the past 4 or 5 months asking for Don Compton. I called back once telling a man that I was not nor knew a Don Compton. He said my number would be removed but now the calls keep comming the difference now is they hang up when the answering machine kicks in. After reading all these post I just try to ignore them.

Im a truck driver... They call me and i call them back over and over and let them listen to the radio with me.... They stop calling for a couple months... Then they call again.... Keeps me from getting bored...
