left a message as "Robert Finch" trying to collect a debt, but is a scam.  Claims to be able to level "fraud" charges against debtor.

Are you positive this is a scam? I got a phone call from the same number and it really scared me.

These are law firms making cold calls hoping they're reaching the correct person. 888-674-5837 called me today and a Ryan Thomas from Bernstien and Friedman stating they had my social security number and information on me regarding fraud and that I should call immediately or else they would be forwarding their information to local law enforcement.

I called back and spoke to Mr. Thomas and identified myself. When he stated the social security number in his file it wasn't mine and I told him so. He apologized and said I no longer needed to worry about the case that he had reached the wrong person. Right name, wrong SSN.

These people have claimed to be about 3 different people to me. now they are using a blocked number and saying they are trying to serve me papers and need my info. and I need to call my case worker from the court with the same number that was given to me by a person who previously said they were a litigation company. This is either a scam or debt collectors who are breaking the law with scare tactics.

Received a call from Ms. Lopez stating that if I dont pay back a debt I owe to a payday loan company that i was going to be charged for "malicious intent to defraud a financial institution" I googled the number and read these reviews suggesting it was a scam, I also thought it was a scam because I never heard of anybody getting arrested for not paying back a payday loan. I laughed it off and ignored all calls from them. Two days later I walked in to my work and the county sheriff was waiting for me. I was arrested and detained for 3 days and until I was finally released on bail. I have court in a few days, wish me luck. Apparently these lawyers have found some loophole to criminally pursue debtors. I know it has to do with the amount you borrowed and how long ago you took out the loan. This is no scam!

so this was a legal firm,cause they called me about the same thing.

I received the same call and they wanted documentation and personal info.  I said, if you are a law office, then you have the capability to subpoena me and the access to public record.  I told them to look it up themselves.  They hung up on me.  Total SCAM.  They tried to use scare tactics. [***]!!!! Gerogia Peach is lying and probably working for the scammers

I just reported this number to the FCC. It's a Scam or collection agency

I contacted the FTC and the state attorney general about these people, it has to stop!
